POSITION: Assistant Manager Slot Operations

DEPARTMENT: SLOTS

STATUS: EXEMPT (SALARY)

REPORTS TO: Slot Operations Manager / Director of Casino Operations

Job Summary:

Supervises the activities of the Slot Department with special emphasis on ensuring the delivery of EGE and B.A.S.E standards by all slot . Personnel.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma required.

  • One-year casino experience required, preferably in slot operation.

  • Must possess strong supervisory and leadership skills.

  • Previous guest contact experience required.

  • Must possess a thorough understanding of slot floor operations.

  • Must have strong knowledge of the various internal written and verbal codes/abbreviations.

  • Must project professionalism and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Previous knowledge of casino rules, regulations and procedures pertinent to Slot operations is required.

  • Must be able to get along with co-workers and work as a team.

  • Must present a well-groomed appearance.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Leads by example while interacting with guests and teammates using our EGE and B.A.S.E. standards at all times.Creates a "Funner" atmosphere at work where teammates and guests can have the best experience possilble.

  • Manages the day-to-day operation of Slot service on assigned shift

  • Monitors appearance of all facilities and service areas and follows-up to ensure cleanliness standards are at the highest level. Responsible for monitoring staffing levels, bank/floor assignments daily and weekly schedules to include breaks.

  • Directly responsible for training slot employees, providing each with the knowledge and appropriate direction to perform his/her responsibilities.

  • Identify game trends and monitor guest comments to make sure we have the latest and greatest slot product on the floor.

  • Monitors legal compliance with all established company, departmental and regulatory agency rules and regulations; provides training feedback, and disciplinary action regarding these rules and regulations.

  • Provides each teammate with clear directives needed to meet departmental standards and achieve departmental and company goals.

  • Exhibits sound decision-making qualities, motivates personnel and exhibits effective supervisory skills.

  • Possesses a thorough working knowledge of the various types of slot machines, their functions, malfunctions and layout schedules.

  • Maintains security of all games, money, and employees.

  • Work with the Slot Performance team to monitor games down to make sure games are being reported in a timely manner.

  • Takes advantage of opportunity to build long term relationships with customers.

  • Routinely strives to build and maintain rapport with Slot players and handles customer disputes, making every effort to achieve customer satisfaction.

  • Ensures that all performance reviews, disciplinary notices, and role model job performance notices are complete, on time and accurate.

  • Monitors the performance of all employees and provides training and coaching as necessary.

  • Works in conjunction with the Slot Coordinators to ensure the break schedule is on track and the mobile dispatch system is being utilized correctly.

  • Monitors business levels daily and cuts hours or assigns over-time as needed.

  • Make recommendations to the Slot Shift Manager and/or the Director of Casino Operations to improve the efficiency of the department and build business.

  • Builds a rapport and coordinates daily functions with support service departments.

  • Acts as role model and always presents oneself as a credit to Harrah's and encourages others to do the same.

  • Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies.

  • Spends the majority of time on the casino floor interacting and tending to the needs of the guests and Slot Personnel.

  • Holds buzz sessions daily to make sure teammates have all the necessary information needed to suggest the latest and greatest products and services at the resort.

  • Makes or recommends wage increases

  • Makes or recommends promotions

  • Provides for safety and security

  • Handles teammates' complaints or grievances

  • Recommends disciplinary action or disciplines teammates

  • Plans work

Physical, Mental & Environmental Demands:

  • Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the casino.

  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.

  • Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist and grip items.

  • Must be able to walk and be on feet for long periods of time.

  • Must have a sense of urgency and keep up with fast paced business practices.

  • Must be able to work in stressful situations. Must possess basic math skills.

  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

  • Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.

This position functions as relief of the Table Games Manager as assigned. Essential Job Functions: * Responsible for the operations of table games on an assigned shift. * Oversees and/or directs activity of Table Games/Poker Supervisors in relief or absence of the TGM/ATGM. * Responsible for observing business levels and making decisions regarding deployment of slots, table games/poker staff, opening/closing tables and/or pits, yielding table limits and managing supervisors as needed. * Displays a working knowledge of all table games procedures, house rules, jackpot payment procedures, card counting methods and procedures . * Assures that all table games coin and check racks are filled at all times. * Settles disputes that arise from guests in the Table Games/Poker area, referring those that are very difficult to the Table Games Manager or the Director of Table Games. * Assures guest development by 1) interacting with guests, 2) modeling interactive skills with guests and fellow employees and 3) making Comp decisions, 4) resolving guest issues using available resources, CMS, service recovery, etc.. * Interacts with support departments to facilitate casino, hotel, food, beverage and slot performance/maintenance services as needed. * Remains alert to any unusual or questionable activities being displayed by any Table Games/Poker employee or gaming guest and reports any situations to assigned superior. * Observes problems or differences between Table Games/Poker employees and gaming guests and provides assistance if necessary. * Recommends change in department including hiring, promotion, demotion and termination; recommends wage and salary changes for personnel within established limits. * Counsels, guides, coaches and instructs assigned personnel in the proper performance of their duties.
