ASSISTANT NURSE MANAGER - FULL-TIME, NIGHTS
The Assistant Nurse Manager works in concert with the Nurse Manager and is responsible for full unit operation including, interviewing, hiring, and termination process. staffing, implementation and evaluation of nursing care for psychiatric and chemically dependent patients for the designated unit, and , responsible for the operational and programmatic management of the designated shift; and assist in the professional growth and development of nursing staff, and direct supervision in the respective unit, carries out supervisory responsibilities in according with the organization's. This position is responsible for planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; auditing; addressing complaints and resolving problems when needed.
Bachelors of Science from an accredited college or University.
Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) required or equivalent
A minimum of three (3) years experience in a psychiatric health-care facility treating, mentally ill, or chemically dependent patients, with understanding of co-occurring disorders, and Cultural Linguistic Diversity amongst patients.
Must have supervisory experience, preferably one (1) year or more
Current Florida State Registered Nurse License
Current Florida Driver's License
Current CPR Certification
Knowledge and Skills:
Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents.
Must be able to respond to common inquiries or complaints from patients, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.
Must be able to write speeches, and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
Must be able to effectively present information to top management, public groups and/or board of directors.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
Must be able to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Knowledge of basic Psychiatric/Chemical Dependency nursing for population from child to adult.
Ability to direct subordinates in the performance of their duties.
Ability to accurately administer medication and monitor side-effects.
Ability to safely implement Special Treatment Procedures.
Ability to develop therapeutic relationships with patients and families
Skill in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel)
