Job Purpose
This role will provide leadership and coordinate activities related to technical support and quality analysis of Honda Marine products. This role involves leading a team responsible for; development and facilitation of dealer & associate technical training, resolving quality issues, consulting customer relations for issue resolution, and trend analysis of market quality issues. The Assistant Manager is also tasked with optimizing processes, implementing best practices, and providing leadership to enhance overall productivity and customer satisfaction. The Assistant Manager of Marine Technical Support will need high analytical skills to make decisions that impact product quality communication and improvements, as well as leading the team through root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions. Additionally, they will collaborate with other departments to improve communication and streamline the speed to resolution. Overall, the Assistant Manager of Marine Technical Support plays a crucial role in developing the strategic direction for improving dealer technical skills, associate skill development, and improving the customer experience with Honda Marine products.
Key Accountabilities
Development and execution of training strategy to meet assigned targets for improving dealer service personnel and associate technical skill levels.
Develop & implement department strategy to ensure the early identification and reporting of product quality issues, timely payment & reimbursement of warranty claims & recovery / reconciliation of AH warranty expense.
Manage Initial Quality Inspection (IQI) and Mass Production Quality Inspection (MPQI) process to confirm market quality of all new Marine products and critical mass production products meet or exceed customer expectations & Honda quality standards
Coordinate with the Product Regulatory Office to execute testing of Honda Marine products to support regulatory confirmation activities
Provide strategic direction to associates to ensure goals are set and provide tactical guidance to ensure goals are exceeded.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
Bachelor's degree - or equivalent business experience
Preferred area of discipline: Engineering & Technical Management
10+ years of experience in the Marine Industry with an emphasis on service and training. Dealership and Customer Service experience desirable
Proficient in MS Office (excel, power point, word)
Expert working knowledge of the marine industry, marine industry products, excellent technical understanding of marine internal combustion engines, marine drive lines, boat operation and marine rigging
Dealing with people and complex issues is an essential part of this position. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate on any level with internal or external personnel. Strong skills in negotiation and motivation is a must
