JOB DESCRIPTION:

Assists in directing the strategic planning, development, and implementation of programs. Represents the organization at meetings, conferences and other events.

May develop and present speeches or presentations to generate or enhance awareness of program(s). Provides technical support by evaluating established processes, conducting training, attending operational meetings and networking with affiliated groups. Monitors progress toward achieving established objectives and deadlines. Participates in planning, administering and monitoring program related budgets.

Conducts research, designs new initiatives, and collaborates with others to ensure program(s) remain viable. May serve on, hold office in, or chair committees. May write publishable articles and papers.

May supervise staff. Oversees or assists in developing operational and statistical reports for management and regulatory agencies. Ensures required records and documentation are maintained.

Performs related responsibilities as required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in a field related to the program(s) and five years of program related experience, OR equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.

Additional Details

The preferred candidate will have experience advising students in post-secondary education settings. The preferred candidate will have experience with academic support programming as well as experience working with students who have academic difficulties.

Knowledge of learning strategies and their application in a higher education setting is critical. Candidates with master's degrees in higher education, counseling, etc. are preferred.

The specific program activities include the proven ability to:

Design and implement proactive student success programs and outreach Oversees the EPASS Tutoring program including hiring, training, and supervising tutors across subjects. Supports tutors in advancing toward certification through the Association of Tutoring Professionals or the College Reading and Learning Association.

Represents Emory College Academic Support Programs at regional and national conferences. Meet with students referred by advisors or other campus partners to monitor student progress and work with advisors and faculty to manage student cases. Serve as a liaison from Emory College to student athletes and work with first year athletes to arrange schedules to fit with the demands of their program.

Conduct programmatic research and analyze data toward annual goals and reports Assist in the coordination and facilitation of STEM Pathways Pre-Orientation program. Support the graduation certification process Support the probation process Teach PACE 101

Hold the role of a senior level subject matter expert regarding delivery of IT services in support of research and instruction. Position focuses on maximizing the delivery of high- value consultative services to faculty and their research groups. Major Responsibilities: * Consult with academic and research faculty and administrative leadership; analyze complex needs and requirements for large research groups or instructional labs. * Design, develop, test, implement and evaluate functional and technical IT system requirements and specifications; provide expert technical advice to research groups. * Advanced system administration of systems for multiple research groups, including monitoring and ensuring performance and reliability objectives. * Responsible for the data management and security operation for multiple research groups. Formulate and implement recovery plans including backup; communicates security and data management practices to end users. * Responsible for the operational support of a large and diverse set of set of cyber-infrastructure resources (including desktops, workstations, data acquisition systems, and other computational and data resources). * Perform updates to server and desktop software/applications; recommend and implement replacement, consolidation and/or upgrade of computational and data resources. * Develop complex scripts or programs to automate monitoring and deployment activities; review source code when appropriate. * Recommend hardware and software procurements; manage assets for a School or a large number of research groups. * Develop and recommend standard operating procedures. * Perform other related duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications: * Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience * Work Experience: Four to six years job related experience * Certifications: N/A * Skills: This job requires advanced knowledge and skill in the installation and maintenance of information technology hardware and software at all layers; a full understanding of industry practices and campus policies and procedures; advanced skills in problem solving, decision making, customer service, system documentation and communications; familiarity with enterprise systems, networking, security and overall IT architecture including systems management; strong understanding of how to properly secure research workload along with NIST 800-171 I DFARS 7012 compliance issues. Preferred Qualifications: * Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree in computer or engineering related field or equivalent experience. * Preferred Work Experience: 4 years of system administration maintenance and support experience with at least two of those years in large environments (100 servers/workstations environments). Linux experience is preferred, as well as working in Active Directory environments with Windows and macOS. * Preferred Certifications: Red Hat certifications or equivalent related to management of Linux systems are a plus. Microsoft certifications such as MCP are also a plus * Preferred Skills: This job requires advanced knowledge in the development, installation, maintenance of Linux servers and workstations (RHEL and Ubuntu), and services provided on those, such as, but not limited to: storage, web services, virtualization infrastructure, etc. The positions also requires the integration of Windows and macOS in this environment. Experience using automated provisioning and configuration management tools to manage large server and workstation environments such as Saltstack, Cfengine, Puppet, Chef, or equivalent is preferred, as well as Windows related automation technologies such as SCCM, Powershell, etc. The ideal candidate will have good experience of Active directory environments and the integration of Linux, Windows and macOS systems in it. Excellent communication skills and ability to work individually and in groups.
