Assists in directing the strategic planning, development, and implementation of programs. Represents the organization at meetings, conferences and other events.
May develop and present speeches or presentations to generate or enhance awareness of program(s). Provides technical support by evaluating established processes, conducting training, attending operational meetings and networking with affiliated groups. Monitors progress toward achieving established objectives and deadlines. Participates in planning, administering and monitoring program related budgets.
Conducts research, designs new initiatives, and collaborates with others to ensure program(s) remain viable. May serve on, hold office in, or chair committees. May write publishable articles and papers.
May supervise staff. Oversees or assists in developing operational and statistical reports for management and regulatory agencies. Ensures required records and documentation are maintained.
Performs related responsibilities as required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in a field related to the program(s) and five years of program related experience, OR equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
The preferred candidate will have experience advising students in post-secondary education settings. The preferred candidate will have experience with academic support programming as well as experience working with students who have academic difficulties.
Knowledge of learning strategies and their application in a higher education setting is critical. Candidates with master's degrees in higher education, counseling, etc. are preferred.
The specific program activities include the proven ability to:
Design and implement proactive student success programs and outreach Oversees the EPASS Tutoring program including hiring, training, and supervising tutors across subjects. Supports tutors in advancing toward certification through the Association of Tutoring Professionals or the College Reading and Learning Association.
Represents Emory College Academic Support Programs at regional and national conferences. Meet with students referred by advisors or other campus partners to monitor student progress and work with advisors and faculty to manage student cases. Serve as a liaison from Emory College to student athletes and work with first year athletes to arrange schedules to fit with the demands of their program.
