Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY

The Assistant Director of Clinical Services serves as an asset in assisting the Director of Clinical Services in providing the leadership and strategic planning of the social services function in patient care. This position reports to and assists the Director in daily operations and oversight of the department.

Assistant Director of Clinical Services helps DCS ensure programs meet the needs of the community and the facility's performance goals and objectives. The Assistant Director of Clinical Services assists in providing leadership, training, and oversight to social services staff (may include interns and graduate students).

The Assistant Director of Clinical Services, under DCS' direction, helps ensure compliance with quality patient care and Joint Commission, CMS, state health department, and all other regulatory standards. Position may involve direct patient care depending on the department's needs, functions including: completing social assessments, participating as an active member of the treatment team in formulating treatment plans and establishing discharge plans with patients, including family members when appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of social work or related mental health field; Master's Degree required.

Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of experience in psychiatric/mental health field; experience in supervision required.

License: Appropriate state licensure in mental health LMSW.

Additional Requirements: Knowledge of TJC, HCFA, OSHA regulations, and patient rights standards and all other applicable federal and state laws and regulations governing mental health care facilities.
