Position Overview:

About the Position:

The Assistant Designer assists the Designer with the execution of seasonal collections, fabrications and colors that maintain the brand identity. Assists in the development, concept and design of the product line. Prepares Line Review presentation materials, concept boards, fabric and color boards and flat sketches. Embodies the company's Values & Practices by maintaining effective collaborative relationships, taking pride in the company and brand, embracing diversity in all facets of the position and representing a hunger for knowledge and responsibility

Responsibilities:

  • Assists in identifying seasonal fashion direction, merchandise trends and client needs for the area of responsibility

  • Assists in the preparation of design specification sheets, both flat and technical sketches, pitch sheets and trim sheets

  • Contributes to conceptualization and implementation of the line; Prepares presentation boards highlighting fabric, flats, and figure sketches; Assists in set up of all Spectrum and Concept presentations

  • Participates in line assortment building and line presentations with the goal of creating a cohesive and exciting collection

  • Assists in research and development for trims and print and pattern

  • Attends all style fittings and provides input/feedback as necessary; Keeps detailed notes from all fittings

  • Maintains product development logs, line sheets, boards and design archives library

  • Facilitates and administers interoffice communication

  • Adheres to cross-functional calendar and attends meetings as required

  • Researches competitive markets

  • People Management:

  • Builds collaborative relationships with vendors and internal clients

  • Interfaces professionally and works effectively in group settings

  • Handle other responsibilities or projects, as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree equivalent in Design

  • 1-2 years' experience in Design

  • Creativity and enthusiasm for fashion

  • Strong sketching and illustration ability

  • Ability to identify color and fashion trends

  • Knowledge of design specifications, i.e. draping, pattern making, sewing and CAD software

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines

  • Strong teamwork skills

  • Proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, Excel and all other Microsoft Office Applications

Position Overview: Assistant Site Merchandiser Ann Taylor Factory About the Position The Assistant Site Merchandiser supports the visual appearance of the website and business initiatives to ensure a superior customer experience. Ensures all imagery on site is updated and accurate. Responsibilities * Responsible for end to end setup of all products for the site, including but not limited to reviewing images, confirming inventory, updating filters, coordinating copy, product data uploads, reviewing default colors and categories, style activation, sequencing, Site QA * Maintain and sequence website on a daily basis using customer –first mind set and collaborating with merchants and marketing on product performance * Assist Associate Manager in weekly/monthly analysis reports on Site Merchandising using web analytics on category performance and site metrics * Utilize web analytics * Provide digital analytics on category performance/left nav performance * Consistently update site to improve conversion and sales, monitoring departmental zero selling flagging any issues to Associate Manager. * Support ATF Sample coordinator in the sample process, including but not limited to gathering samples, setting up rack reviews, partnering with Production teams * Collaborate with Production and Merchandising on reviewing PLP images before launch, flagging any corrections to appropriate teams. * Continually evaluates online environment and competitive analysis on other sites * Support marketing activity and product selection ensuring all marketed items are properly sequenced in grids. * Ensure promotions and markdowns are executed properly on the site Requirements * Bachelors degree, or equivalent * 1-2 years marketing or ecommerce merchandising experience * Extremely detail oriented, with excellent follow-through skills * Strong fashion sense with a sense of brand and client needs * Demonstrate the organizational ability to facilitate multi-tasking in a fast-pace environment * Ability to think both strategically and creatively * Solution-driven problem solver * Collaboratively work with cross functional teams and own team members * Professional verbal and written communication skills * Experience with Omniture is a plus * Ability to execute to timelines and provide timely solutions * Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications, especially Excel #LI-CS1 Location:Times Square Tower-ANN-New York, NY 10036Position Type:Regular/Full time Equal Employment Opportunity The Company is committed to hiring and developing the most qualified people at all levels.
