The Service Delivery (SD) organization serves to maintain and enhance our award-winning, high-quality service and to deliver it consistently and globally to our clients. The ADH for US Alternatives

  • Service Delivery leads the Client Service Managers covering broadly all aspects of supporting our US Alternatives clients and their operations. The position reports to Senior Vice President in charge of US Alternatives in Boston. This role requires strong experience in Alternatives, with proven knowledge of, and responsibility for, corporate accounting, partnership accounting, and/or consolidation for multi-entity vehicles such as blockers, AIV's, side-pockets, and/or complex performance return and fee calculations on alternative structures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee operations and client service teams supporting Alternatives

  • Lead initiatives to optimize technology platform to enhance productivity and client service

  • Set strategic direction and reporting lines

  • Oversight of financials, client satisfaction and profitability metrics

  • Establish and maintain a culture of superior service in accordance with BBH's global strategy

  • Build and maintain strong client and internal relationships

  • Form strategic partnerships with peers and internal stakeholders by providing resources and expertise to maximize business success

  • Manage controls efficiently to alleviate any areas of potential risk.

  • Act as the senior point of escalation for Systems, Operations, and Risk/Control for any client related issues and proactively manage the resolution process with frequent updates and satisfaction measures.

  • Draw upon extensive functional expertise of alternatives product/service area to balance day-to-day operations with the strategic direction set for SD to achieve optimum levels of risk/reward and cost/value.

  • Document and implement procedures for tracking, processing, and reporting on structures requiring corporate accounting, partnership accounting, and/or consolidation for multi-entity vehicles such as blockers, AIV's, side-pockets, and/or complex performance return and fee calculations

  • Oversee and ensure compliance to all guidelines and procedures internally

  • Monitor operational issues and follow through on effective problem resolution with management of supporting department and ensuring preventive measures are in place to avoid reoccurrences.

  • Assist senior management with ongoing project management

  • Actively manage direct reports and other staff by establishing timely and challenging performance standards, providing ongoing feedback and conducting annual performance appraisals

  • Participate in the career development of staff and act as a positive role model and mentor

  • Participate in the interview and selection process, attract highly qualified, high potential candidates for the firm

  • Actively manage staff performance and progressive discipline process for employees failing to meet expectations

  • Delegates and manages performance delegates effectively by clearly communicating objectives, standards, responsibilities, and milestones while holding individuals and teams accountable for achieving results

  • Implement strategy through communicating a strategic vision that leverages and builds the firm's strengths to deliver a competitive advantage

Education level and/or relevant experience(s)

  • BS/BA required, or equivalent work experience.

  • A minimum of 10 years' working experience in financial services industry, specifically supporting product areas within alternatives space

  • A minimum of 5 years' of progressive management experience

  • Experience managing multiple internal or client relationships

  • Experience working on implementation projects

Through six distinct disciplines, the Client Analytics team provides analytics around the full lifecycle of client relationships for business and finance management. The six disciplines within the Client & Competitive Analytics team are: (1) Sales & Net New Business reporting; (2) pricing decision support; (3) bankwide fund and asset analysis; (4) client and product profitability; (5) sales team support and compensation; and (6) industry intelligence. These teams are responsible for all external and internal reporting and analysis on State Street's $33T of Assets Under Custody and/or Administration as well as for leading pricing and profitability analytics across 6,000 some clients of State Street's investment servicing businesses. The teams partner particularly closely with sales and relationship management functions in the businesses to drive top-line results for the Bank. The person in this role will be responsible not only for further evolving the Bank's client-level and product-level statements of profit and loss but also for acting as the finance counterpart to several of the firm's Client Executives and for leading the overall finance support model for all Client Executives around the world. This individual will have six direct reports based in Boston but will work closely with several other teams: peers in Hong Kong and London will report to this individual for their Client Executive face-off responsibilities and a six-person team in Bangalore that is part of the Controller's organization relies on this individual to guide improvements to the thousands of p and ls that it prepares. Responsibilities of this role will include, but are not limited to, the following * This individual will manage the 6-person Client & Product Profitability team based in Boston. The team has been without a leader since May when its longtime lead transferred internally; the team is mostly comprised of AVPs with just over two years of experience in client p&ls but a wealth of experiences in client operations. The team has largely been focused on the mechanics behind reporting for he past few years, but now needs to complete its evolution to trusted advisors to the business. * This leader will continue the evolution of Client & Product P&Ls – strategic improvements needed in the next eighteen months include providing more granular revenue reporting, ensuring the Bank's entire expense base is being allocated to clients, revising allocation methodologies, moving with Global Delivery to a more unit-costed P&L, finalizing product P&Ls, and redesigning Client P&Ls to better serve the needs of the Client Executive program. * This MD will manage the efforts to support the newly-implemented Client Executive program, directly supporting (with the SVP) twelve CEs in the US and overseeing the VPs supporting CEs in APAC and EMEA. * The Head of Client & Product Profitability will be responsible for a host of bespoke analyses needed for executive management including the Bank's CFO and Head of Investor Relations. * This person will cooperate closely with the Global Pricing team to evaluate the actual performance of new projects compared to the assumptions that were used when determining how to price the new services.
