Round-the-clock care is also available at TriStar Ashland City Medical Center, a critical access hospital in nearby Cheatham County.

The TriStar Spring Hill Emergency Room provides 24-hour emergency care for nearby Spring Hill, TN, and surrounding communities.

Centennial Medical Center is currently looking for a Associate Controller (Full-Time, Exempt).

Position Responsibilities:
1.Directs month-end close process for multiple ledgers.
2.Maintains general ledger.
3.Provides supervision and financial training for accounting staff
4.Assist the hospital controller with other duties and special projects as assigned

Department Specific Criteria:
1.Directs month-end close process.

  • Performs general ledger entries.

  • Review journal entries

  • Ensures accuracy of month-end close process through ledger review

  • Supervise and provide guidance to staff
    2.Monthly responsibilities:

  • Ensures all accounts are reconciled.

  • Ensures all SOX 404 Key Controls are completed correctly and timely

  • Ensure compliance with HCA's APG's

  • Monthly reconciliation and tracking of capital assets and requisitions

  • Weekly/Monthly trauma reviews

  • Completes weekly projections
    3.Annual/Semi-Annual and other responsibilities:

  • Assists Controller with annual budget preparation.

  • Ensure year-end tax work papers are completed correctly and timely

  • Ensures Internal Controls are completed semi-annually accurately and timely

  • Annual JAR completion

  • Annual Medicare Cost Report Work Papers completed accurately and timely

  • Special projects as needed

  • Preparing for and managing all internal and external financial audits

Position does require working some weekends and some holidays to meet month-end close deadlines

  • Bachelor's Degree (Accounting or Finance)

  • At least 5 years of experience, preferably within HCA.

  • Master's Degree preferred

  • CPA preferred

  • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, database software and other financial systems

  • Good communication skills, both oral and written

  • Medicare and third party payer knowledge required
