The Rutgers Division of Intercollegiate Athletics sponsors 24 intercollegiate sports, comprised of 14 women's and 10 men's programs, that compete at the Division I level. The Scarlet Knights are members of the prestigious Big Ten Conference, the nation's premier academic and athletic conference, after officially joining the league on July 1, 2014. Known as "The Birthplace of College Football, Rutgers hosted Princeton on Nov. 6, 1869 in the first intercollegiate football game, with RU earning a 6-4 victory.

Posting Summary

Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking an Assistant Coach for the Wrestling department.

Among the key duties of the position are the following:

• Assists in the coordination of a Men's Wrestling intercollegiate athletic program under the direct supervision of the Head Coach

• Provides an opportunity for student-athletes to train and compete on a competitive, Division I men's wrestling program while attending school to earn a college degree.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree required.

Certifications/Licenses

• A valid driver's license would be required for this position; Use of personal vehicle in order to travel for business demands.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Good organization skills.

• Ability to communicate effectively with student-athletes and the media.

• Computer literate.

Preferred Qualifications

• Youth, High school or collegiate wrestling coaching and competitiion experience preferred.

• Knowledge of the Big Ten and NCAA regulations preferred.

Equipment Utilized

• Must be able to use a computer, email, editing equipment and recruiting database software.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Nights and weekends will be required.
