The Assortment Planner, in partnership with the merchant and financial merchandise planner, is responsible for developing the bottom-up item level assortment plans that balance to class level plans. The assortment planner provides receipt, productivity and sales targets (dollars and units) to the merchant at the style level. Clear execution and communication of the strategies will ensure collaboration between the financial merchandise plans and style level buys to maximize sales, profit, and inventory turnover.
Prepares and analyzes SKU productivity and choice level performance to develop detailed style/choice/tier/location assortment plans that balance to the financial class level plans
Drives pre-season, in-season, and post-season item level analysis and identifies opportunities and risks
Analyze and own reforecast choice level plans, communicating risks and opportunities to the merchant and merchandise financial planner and developing appropriate action plans
Ensure alignment of assortment breadth and depth within the class, subclass, and power driver
Uses historical trends and forecasts to make sales, receipt and markdown recommendations
Perform exception-based reconciliations to ensure the assortment plan fits the merchant intent and overall merchandise strategy
Cross functionally partners and aligns with Merchandising, the Merchandise financial planner, and Sourcing to ensure all performance objectives are met in assigned area of responsibility
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or related field
Years of Experience: 1 - 3
Advanced knowledge of Excel, reporting tools and overall system savvy
Proven/Prior experience in assortment planning system
Proven analytical skills and financial acumen
Can influence, negotiate, and present ideas that lead others to action
Utilize retail math skills to analyze and drive business
Results-oriented and self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Percentage of Travel: 5 - 15%
