POSITION: Evercore seeks to hire a Portfolio Management Associate or Vice President level for its Wealth Management business located in New York, NY.
The primary function of the Associate/Vice President is to support senior Portfolio Managers in the daily execution of portfolio management responsibilities and client service requirements. The role is an integral component of the relationship team and will provide a broad wealth management experience. This position is intended for an individual with an interest in investments, portfolio management, construction and implementation, and in direct interaction with private clients.
Responsibilities will include:
Assist Portfolio Managers in the management of client portfolios, including analysis of asset allocation and portfolio construction to ensure that portfolios are aligned with client investment policy statements and the firm's investment outlook.
Actively participate in internal investment meetings, including the Investment Policy Committee, Asset Allocation Committee, Equity Committee, Fixed Income Committee, and External Manager Selection Committee
Actively participate in investment process, both at the client portfolio level, and also in contributing to the broader investment committees (listed above).
Working closely with senior Portfolio Managers in the implementation of investment ideas generated through the various investment committees.
Act as an additional point of contact for client and internal communications, managing information flow, prioritizing needs, and assisting with communications, and preparing and maintaining client related documentation.
Develop meaningful relationships with clients with the eventual goal of assuming a larger, and in some cases, a lead role, in specified client relationships.
Develop a strong foundational understanding of wealth management topics including financial, estate and income tax planning.
Portfolio and Account Administration, including overseeing the investment assistant's review of daily reports (e.g., transaction, overdraft, bond maturity) for possible investment implications.
Assist in content creation and preparation of presentation materials for client meetings. Coordinate with wealth advisory professionals and investment assistants to ensure deadlines are met.
Preferred Qualifications:The candidate should have between 2-5 years' experience working in an investment environment.
Bachelor's degree required; strong academic background, including relevant undergraduate degree, CFA or MBA or progress toward either a plus
Experience working directly with high net worth individuals, families, and institutions a plus
Strong attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work well in a highly collaborative environment
Organizational and problem solving skills
Ability to multi-task and prioritize work
