Total Portfolio Solutions Department

The Total Portfolio Solutions Department (TPS) is tasked with the creation and management of comprehensive cross-asset investment strategies. Our investment purview extends to both public and private markets and includes the task of rebalancing the GIC Portfolio.

Portfolio of Innovations and Extension (PIX)

Portfolio of Innovations and Extension, a division within the TPS department, functions as GIC's private market R&D centre. Our mandate is to discover, research and implement new investment strategies that can significantly impact the total portfolio.

We partner with top-tier managers, develop strategic initiatives with industry players, or invest directly. We are currently seeking an Associate/AVP to join our team. The successful candidate will be a key member of a small agile team that operates a global, cross-asset alternatives investment platform within GIC. This team is responsible for evaluating and investing in non-traditional strategies - including forestry, agriculture, carbon credit, insurance risk, and frontier markets - with the aim of enhancing the GIC Total Portfolio.

Responsibilities:

• Identify and assess investment opportunities in both direct investments and funds.

• Aid in the development of new investment strategies, operational processes, and investment guidelines.

• Assist in the investment closing process, including structuring, legal due diligence, documentation, and negotiation.

• Keep abreast of macro environment, market trends, and portfolio risk and performance.

Requirements:

• 2-5 years of professional experience in an investment bank, buy-side firm, or consulting firm. Prior hands-on transactional experience in alternative and real assets, especially natural capital (agriculture, forestry, and nature-based solutions), is preferred.

• Exceptional analytical skills - proficiency in financial modelling and robust quantitative abilities.

• Self-driven and comfortable working in an unstructured, entrepreneurial environment to develop an investment portfolio and business processes.

• Resourceful and adept at fostering new internal and external relationships.

• Team-oriented, self-motivated, and driven by intellectual curiosity.

• Ability to think critically when evaluating across different asset classes.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Compensation

Our compensation philosophy reflects several principles. We strive to provide a competitive compensation package to attract and retain talent globally.

We pay for performance, and reward sustainable results. Total pay for this position comprises base pay and bonus. The anticipated base salary range for this role, depending on seniority and experience, is between $130,000 and $200,000. Bonuses, which may form a meaningful proportion of the total pay package, are determined based on company and individual performance.
