Associate or Associate Director, Structured & Private Debt - Real Assets

This is a great job for someone who has strong analytical corporate credit skills and transaction experience in investment grade debt and/or leveraged finance. Experience of French public sector debt and the application of credit rating agency methodologies and scorecards to rate private debt transactions would be a further useful skillset.

A bit about the job:

The Structured & Private Debt team is responsible for the origination, structuring and execution of corporate and sub-sovereign private debt assets from a diverse range of issuers and sectors. The team manages several investment mandates from various Aviva entities and third-party investors.

The successful role holder will collaborate with the team and a range of stakeholders on the whole lifecycle of private debt investment including origination, structuring and execution across UK, France and Continental Europe. You will be producing concise and analytical investment papers built upon fundamental credit analysis covering business, financials, rating and structure which are then presented to Investment Committee. Alongside this, the role holder will deal with investment across different debt markets including Private Placements, leveraged loans as well as structured transactions.

Skills and experience we're looking for:

• Flexibility of mindset to work on various client investment remits including fixed rate investment grade, leveraged loans as well as some exposure to guaranteed and secured lending strategies.

• Excellent fundamental credit skills, being able to analyse and produce high quality credit papers with limited oversight. An understanding of relative value analysis, commercial deal negotiation and execution experience is also beneficial.

• Experience investing in and/or rating French Public Sector debt (i.e. Housing Associations, Local Authorities, Hospitals) is desirable but not essential.

• Must be highly detail oriented and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Excellent academic track record preferably progressing or obtained a professional qualification (CFA, CAIA or any other industry specific qualification)
