POSITION SUMMARY

The Associate Truss Designer is responsible for providing support to the Design team with a primary focus on wall panel efforts. This position serves as a technical expert for the design software and assists in the development of SOPs related to design processes. This position may also participate in designing truss systems for commercial and residential buildings.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the development and coordination of design documents utilizing Eagle, AutoCAD, Revit, BIM360 and other drafting tools.

  • Support design and estimate efforts for wall, roof, and floor trusses.

  • Collaborate with Designers to ensure proper support and resources are in place prior to meetings with internal and external clients.

  • Assist in modification and change requests.

  • Understand and develop blueprints for roof trusses, floor trusses, and wall panels using the appropriate design software.

  • Draft accurate bids, material, and price list for submission to Designers.

  • Work closely and in cooperation with sales and management personnel to coordinate deliveries of floor and roof trusses.

  • Serve as the design software lead, ensuring full understanding of design software and reporting capabilities.

  • Perform all other duties assigned and those that may be necessary to achieve company and departmental goals.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • General knowledge of construction industry, specifically, floor and truss design process.

  • Ability to accurately tabulate loads and load transfer through a building.

  • Proficient in Revit; BIM360 is a plus.

  • Proficient in MS Office applications, Adobe Suite is a plus

  • Strong technical, written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy/thoroughness of all work

  • True desire to complete, lead, and manage projects.

  • Excellent organizational and follow-through skills.

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Preferred: Associate degree in related field

Required: 1 or more years of related experience and/or training
