Job Description

As part of CN's Video Distribution & Operations team, this role requires expertise in managing and applying best practices across multiple YouTube channels and other distribution endpoints and providing video support for the organization. Candidate must have a passion for digital video, how it's consumed, where it's shared, and must love geeking out with data.


  • Day to day management of multiple YouTube channels

  • Optimize and publish editorial and branded videos across multiple endpoints, including YouTube, Syndication, O&O, OTT and Social

  • Write titles and descriptions for videos, optimizing for YouTube, OTT and other endpoints

  • Tag all videos with a focus on the YT algorithm

  • Advanced thumbnail creation

  • YT community management

  • Surfacing insights via YT Analytics and other tools

  • Work within an internal content management system

  • Provide general video support and training for various internal teams

  • YT ContentID


  • Ability to work across multiple teams including Production, Programming, Strategy, Brand Editors, Sales & Account Management, Marketing, Product, Ad Ops

  • Willingness and eagerness to learn, iterate, and grow in a collaborative and nimble environment

  • Advanced understanding of the YouTube algorithm

  • Advanced Photoshop for thumbnail creation

  • Expertise of YouTube Analytics

  • Expertise of YouTube CMS

  • YouTube Certification a plus

Job Description: The Wall Street Journal is looking for an associate video journalist to join its New York-based news and analysis team. You will contribute to timely news and markets videos as well as features for WSJ Video's Twitter video initiative. Primary duties will include creating both text and reporter-fronted social videos, assisting with newsroom and studio shooting and lighting, and may occasionally include researching and reporting on feature videos and producing videos in the field. We're looking for someone with a professional background in video journalism, who demonstrates solid shooting and editing skills, and has some experience with graphics in AfterEffects and Illustrator. You will juggle many tasks and deadline pressure is a constant in our newsroom, so an ability to react quickly is essential, as is the ability to bring challenging topics to life visually. Because this is a role focused on producing timely news and markets coverage, you need to show successful executions of projects within just a few hours. Candidates with social news and video experience will take priority. You will report to the Senior Executive Producer, News & Specials.
