The AVP of Pharmacy Mail Services plans, directs, controls, and organizes the workflow and business operations of the organization's Mail Delivery business line. This role bearing responsibility for profit and loss within the Pharmacy Services delivery. Furthermore, the AVP implements enhancements, programs, and initiatives in the pharmacy system to expand patient services. This position also includes closely identifying changes in the marketplace, risks, and growth opportunities while actively participating with internal partners to optimize market share and reimbursement.
Project Management: leading the establishment of SRH license to operate pharmacy services
Project Management: lead the multidisciplinary process for establishing the mail order pharmacy for SRH, including capital, regulatory, clinical, information systems, call center, marketing
Operational Workflows: develop and establish best practice workflows for the new pharmacy line of business
Supervision and Guidance: Leading and assisting technicians call center agents and supervisors throughout all stages of prescription processing
Operational Guidelines: Furnishing operational directives for pharmacists throughout the organization
Prescription Review: Evaluating prescriptions for accuracy, legality, and appropriateness, including the determination of required formulas and ingredients
Pharmacy Workforce Management: Directing pharmacy personnel engaged in the preparation, packaging, and labeling of pharmaceuticals
Customer Interaction: Addressing inquiries from pharmacy customers regarding drug interactions and providing informative responses
Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring strict adherence to pertinent legal rules, regulations, and procedures
Quality Assurance and Inventory Control: Upholding quality assurance procedures, safeguarding controlled substances, and overseeing inventory accuracy
Data Entry: Recording patient information, prescribed medications, and costs for the purpose of maintaining pharmacy records and inventory
Pharmacy Practice: Engaging in pharmacy practice, encompassing dispensing, patient consultations, and vaccine administration
Reporting Review: Daily scrutiny of various reports, such as end-of-day, transfer, and deleted prescription reports
Staff Management: Overseeing employees to ensure efficiency, performance, and development, inclusive of coaching and training
Recruitment and Orientation: Participating in staff recruitment and providing orientation
Diversity and Inclusion: Creating an inclusive workplace environment and advocating for diversity in staffing
Corporate Pharmacy Operations: Managing all facets of corporate pharmacy operations, encompassing the administration of Mail Delivery Pharmacy
Interdepartmental Integration: Coordinating and unifying services across departments and advancing specialty pharmacy services
340B Medication Oversight: Supervising 340B medications in clinics, overseeing contract pharmacy arrangements, and ensuring compliance
Contract Management: Exercising oversight over contract execution to ensure regulatory compliance and patient safety
Billing and Contract Negotiations: Managing pharmacy billing, engaging in negotiations for Prescribed Minimum Benefits (PMB) contracts, and assessing their profitability
Patient Assistance Programs: Formulating and overseeing Pharmacy-driven Patient Assistance Programs
Budget Management: Formulating fiscal operating and capital equipment budgets aligned with the organization's goals
Financial Analysis: Conducting financial and quantitative analysis and pursuing opportunities for revenue development
Risk Mitigation: Analyzing reports and industry information to identify and address risks to pharmacy services
Vendor Contracts: Managing all pharmacy-related vendor contracts, encompassing services, inventory, billing, and reimbursement
Compliance and Investigations: Responding to requests from auditors, attorneys, and government agencies and conducting internal investigations to address compliance-related issues
Managed Care Reimbursement: Assessing managed care reimbursement and recommending engagement with managed care agencies
Quality Assurance: Collaborating with senior managers to develop processes that ensure safe, legal, and ethical pharmacy practices
Ad Hoc Duties: Fulfilling additional responsibilities as assigned
