Limestone University invites applications for a full-time position of Associate Vice President for Institutional Advancement.
Position Summary: The Associate Vice President of Institutional Advancement will be responsible for the oversight and execution of major and planned giving, leadership giving, foundation and corporate relations, advancement services, prospect research and management, and donor relations. The Associate Vice President of Institutional Advancement will maintain a personal portfolio of major donors, prospects, and foundations, while bringing strategic vision and discipline to the leadership, major, and planned giving programs. The Associate Vice President will supervise team members and drive effective performance, including developing and implementing best practices and systems in advancement and promoting excellence in all aspects of advancement's work. This position serves major gift fundraising efforts and manages a portfolio of prospects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the Advancement team in the planning and implementation of long- and short-term strategies to secure gifts from individuals and organizations through major, planned, and annual gifts.
Work with the Vice President of Institutional Advancement to establish measurable goals to increase fundraising results.
Maintain a portfolio and solicit major and planned gifts.
Ensure successful implementation of a planned giving program both by informing marketing and prospecting strategy as well as by personally soliciting and assisting in the solicitation of planned gift prospects.
Set direction and give guidance to the stewardship program to recognize donors in effective and meaningful ways.
Provide direction and leadership for research and prospect management, setting measurable and attainable goals and evaluating outcomes to ensure fund-raising staff have the information they need to target their work with prospective donors.
Mentor, train, and supervise staff members.
Develop strong positive relationships with the University community.
Work alongside the Vice President of Institutional Advancement to establish and adhere to annual operating budgets ensuring that development programs are operating in a fiscally prudent and productive way.
Keep well-informed of current best practices in the Advancement profession and evaluate new and emerging ideas for potential implementation.
Help develop and administer policies related to fundraising and gift stewardship.
Launch successful campaigns for Limestone University through personal solicitations.
Commit to travel and off-site meetings on a weekly basis and attend weekend and evening events as needed.
Strong communications and marketing skills to drive messaging through print, social and online channels.
Manage portfolio of corporate and major gift donors.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manage Director of Annual Giving and Director of Alumni and Donor Relations
