Reporting to the Vice President and Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, the Associate Vice President of Brand and Marketing provides leadership, develops strategy, and catalyzes target audience enchantment across Aggieland and beyond. This AVP will possess deep expertise and experience in developing and implementing a comprehensive brand and marketing strategy that elevates Texas A&M University's reputation as a world-class research institution and destination for top students and faculty.
This position will establish a long-term brand and marketing strategy that edifies the Aggie spirit and enables the realization of the university's strategic goals, delivering a unified brand experience across channels founded on deep insights and understanding. The AVP will provide influence and lead collaboration across the central marketing and communications team, as well as set of colleges, schools, and divisions, many of which have their own marketers and communicators. This individual will develop and demonstrate a deep understanding of the Aggie spirit and a commitment to upholding our traditions, meanwhile driving innovation and progress.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, advertising, business administration, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
Ten years of progressively responsible management experience, including supervisory experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Ten years of increasing responsibility and leadership in brand building and management, marketing strategy, and strategic planning
Experience in building professional-grade, insight-based, distinct brand positions, strategies, platforms, and resulting marketing campaigns
Experience in leadership roles in marketing, brand management, advertising, or related fields, including experience leading enterprise-wide brand strategies
Demonstrated experience directing, managing, and supervising marketing teams, including within higher education
Experience managing multi-million-dollar budgets
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Progressive leadership roles in marketing, brand management, advertising, or related fields
Demonstrated ability to lead change and drive brand strategy and alignment
Strong foundational marketing and brand management experience and in-depth knowledge of brand management, strategic marketing, advertising and promotion, and the uses of digital media
Proven strategic, analytical, creative, and planning skills
Broad understanding of the organizational structure, operations, budgets, and finances
Superior communication and people skills
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in a demanding environment while maintaining accuracy of work
Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a cross-functional team
Superior organizational skills - must be able to prioritize and meet deadlines effectively
Excellent project management, analytical, communication, and diplomacy skills
Must be able to work well under pressure
Excellent interpersonal and critical thinking skills, including establishing cooperative working relationships with supervisors, colleagues, and campus partners
Ability to attend staff events as needed (occasional nights and weekends)
