Responsibilities

The Associate Underwriter role with Intrepid offers the unique opportunity to learn and grow within the Underwriting team. Associate Underwriters evaluate critical information and perform basic underwriting functions in support of the Underwriting Department.

The role's primary responsibility will be to support the underwriting team in a variety of ways, while learning how to effectively underwrite Intrepid's book of business. In addition, you will contribute to our underwriting direction by providing feedback and input on underwriting workflows and processes, where we consistently strive for efficiencies.

Key functions include but are not limited to:

• Work closely with the underwriting team to learn how to underwrite a book of business

• Underwrite and process endorsements within letter of authority

• Review and set-up submissions, request and follow up on missing information as necessary

• Perform exposure and coverage updates to active quotes

• Issue policies

• Compliantly send policyholder notices

• Develop a strong understanding of Intrepid's brand strategy/underwriting appetite

• Contribute to the refinement of underwriting processes and workflows

• Collaborate with our sales, client services, and technology teams to enhance the customer experience

• Execute underwriting strategy and follow established underwriting guidelines

• Contribute to the innovative processes at IDI

• Work on underwriting projects as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree; and/or 2-3 years relevant experience

• Commercial Rating experience a plus

• Knowledge of commercial products including Property, Liability, Automobile, Umbrella, Workers Compensation, and BOPs a plus

• Build sustainable relationships of trust through open and interactive communication
