Position Summary

We are seeking a Tooling Designer to join the SyBridge engineering team at our St. Petersburg, Florida facility. This individual will work within the Engineering department and close with the Operations and Commercial teams. This individual will be responsible for designing and making design changes to existing plastic injection molds using Solid Works software. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Tooling Engineer / Designer ensures quality is a priority each and every time while also supporting the Program Managers to achieve accuracy of design, meet deadlines, and increase customer satisfaction. This role is required to be onsite at our St. Petersburg, Florida facility.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Tooling Designer you will be responsible for working within the framework of a team and performing the following activities:

• Work with the engineering manager or senior engineers to complete engineering projects

• Conduct design concept meetings, design review meetings, and kick-off meetings with the engineering team, shop personnel, and customers

• Interact with the mold shop, programming, quality, and inspection teams, as well as upper management to maintain open, honest, and prompt communication

• Meet schedules and on time delivery

• Learn and maintain ISO quality standards

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of related experience designing tooling / plastic injection molds or equivalent experience (ex: machine shop experience)

• 2+ years of CAD experience required, SolidWorks skills are preferred

• SolidWorks plastics is a plus

• Understanding of injection molding and tool creation process

• Ability to work with closely with senior designers to create detailed drawings

• Willingness to grow and learn the business and eagerness for career development within the company and engineering group

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent is required

• Bachelor's degree is a plus
