The Associate Technical Account Manager is primarily responsible for delivering accurate and timely quotes to clients and handling technical transition to WorkSmart services for new and existing clients to improve overall service and increase client satisfaction. This includes installation of management and monitoring tools and network equipment.

Key Responsibilities of the team:

  • Generates quotes for WorkSmart products and services to clients based on service team recommendations.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Perform the technical duties related to setting up services for new clients, and decommissioning services when clients cancel in accordance with WorkSmarts best practices, including maintaining comprehensive documentation of clients systems and services.
  • Prepare and deliver accurate quotes in a timely manner.
  • Provide technical assistance and customer service as needed in conjunction with Account managers to supplement proactive strategic initiatives.
  • Document work comprehensively
  • Update and maintain technical service plan setup documentation.
  • Manage electronic licensing shipping & receiving, process renewal quoting, and maintain licensing documentation
  • Complete training as assigned by supervisor.
  • Provide weekly reports on key metrics.


  • Experience providing end-user support, managing network equipment and supporting Windows workstatations and servers.
  • Experience procuring computer hardware, software and peripherals is strongly preferred. Experience working for a VAR, systems integrator or technology distributor is desired
  • Knowledge of Cisco, Dell, EMC, HPE, Microsoft and VMware product purchasing, licensing, and partner programs is strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of QuoteWerks and ConnectWise is a plus
  • Positive attitude and client-service driven
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and client service skills
  • Microsoft Office proficiency including Word and Excel

This involves acting as the authoritative technical escalation and ownership point, across multiple products to meet support entitlement levels, driving ticket resolution. As a TAM in the Technical Assistance Center (TAC), you will drive higher technical satisfaction than other cohorts and gain a comprehensive familiarity with Enterprise customer's operational environment, to leverage for troubleshooting and guidance. The TAM will forge a positive and lasting relationship with key customer representatives. Job Duties * Own TAM technical support issues through resolution. * Perform ticket analysis and response for Enterprise cases * Act as a customer advocate and liaison with development, product and Tier 3 teams for all technical issues. * Conduct TAM onboarding presentations with newly signed Enterprise customers * Perform quarterly customer review meetings to evaluate issue trends and overall 'State of the Union' health check, and solicit support and product feedback. * Provide advanced support for designated Avalara Partners. * Ensure up to knowledge of customers current and future environment. * Establish trusted advisor relationship with assigned customers. * Collaborate with T1 and 2 teams to ensure Enterprise SLAs are always adhered to. Qualifications * Exceptional judgement and customer relationship management * Minimum of 3 years' experience supporting enterprise level software and/or customers * Critical thinking/analysis to include * Troubleshooting the most efficient resolution or escalation * Prioritization of open development tickets * Data analysis feedback to Product teams on opportunity areas * Pro-active suggestions based on ticket trends * Expertise in SF use and queue management to include: * Ticket assignment base on skill set * Workload analysis and assignment balancing * Advanced ticket driver analysis and root cause identity * Proven ability to execute in a customer focused environment and advocate for customers across a cross-functional organization. * Minimum of 2 years' proven experience working as a Technical Account Manager (TAM), supporting enterprise level software and/or customers * And/or Proficiency in technical workings of at least two core Avalara applications, to include: * API functionality (Function and error identification) * Campaign management * Certificate application, management and system flow through * AvaTax connector functionality (Big 5) * Customer Relationship Management * Mastery of data flow between customer and any relevant Avalara products * And/or proficiency in operation and technical workings of Returns Excise and AvaTax Excise * And/or proficiency in operation and technical workings of Communications applications and services Preferred Qualifications * BA/BS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. * Technical interworking with all other relevant products in Avalara Portfolio * AvaTax * Avalara Excise * OEM connectors * D365, Dynamics AX/GP/NAV, Sage * Technical abilities to include the following: * Database analysis * Database structural knowledge * competency in APIs and data manipulation * Relational knowledge of customer/certificate/data feed/ data source * Ability to perform complex trouble shooting for all data logistics elements * Familiarity with one or more of the programming/scripting languages: Java, C++, C#, .NET, or JavaScript, Perl, Python, PHP, SQL. preferred.
