Program Overview

The Associate Team Leader (ATL) program is Six month leadership development program which has been developed for newly promoted or hired Associate Team Leaders in the Manufacturing, Warehouse and Transportation divisions.

The program is designed to:

  • Give a broad exposure to multiple areas of the business

  • Build your Business/Technical Skills

  • Enhance your Leadership Skills

  • Prepare ATLs for the Team Leader Role

During the program you will be assigned a Dedicated Trainer who will

coordinate your training activities and provide you coaching and feedback. Along with the Dedicated Trainer you will have hands on learning experiences, get exposure to multiple areas of the business, and attend leadership classes. Upon successful completion of the program, ATLs are promoted into a Team Leader role.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND PROCESS RESPONSIBILITIES

(Other duties may be assigned as necessary)

Majority of the time spent using independent judgment in making employment-related and business decisions, or effectively recommend such decisions including but not limited to product and department related strategies, hiring, promoting, disciplining, suspending, discharging, rewarding or otherwise engage in resolving Partner-related matters

Partner Relations

  • Develops and demonstrates basic technical knowledge relating to positive partner relations, coaching and partner development skills.

  • Under direct supervision and guidance, provides performance feedback to partners.

  • Under the guidance of higher leadership levels, provides direct assistance in resolving partner issues and concerns.

  • Fosters, promotes, and ensures compliance with facility safety requirements.

  • Ensures that area of responsibility is in compliance with internal and external policies, procedures, guidelines, and governance.

  • Participates in creation and execution of communication plan to share tactical and strategic plans and initiatives with Partners

Customer Service & Support

  • Assists in the development of Partner work schedules that business needs are met.

  • Works with partners to ensure understanding and commitment of daily business goals.

  • Develops thorough understanding of and monitors and adjusts product flow processes to ensure targeted receiving and shipping schedules are achieved.

  • Researches and responds to customer inquiries and makes necessary corrections.

Expense Control

  • Develops an understanding of and monitors productivity and throughput against goals and takes appropriate action to meet goals.

  • Monitors daily work volume and suggest appropriate balance of staffing levels and overtime.

  • Works with leadership team and partners to develop a thorough understanding or causes of equipment damage and works with all partners to reduce damage and increase equipment life.

Warehouse Conditions & Sanitation

  • Maintains a clean, safe, well organized, and pest free warehouse. Identifies, addresses, and resolves sanitation and safety issues.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION PREFERRED

  • Bachelors Degree or 1-3 years related experience

  • Fundamental working knowledge and compliance: industry, OSHA, EEOC, and Employment Laws

  • Multi-tasking and attention to detail skills required

  • Intermediate written and verbal communication skills; experience with presentation a plus

  • Basic skills in analysis and influence of people and process.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with operating internal and external software systems at a basic level.

  • Attendance and completion of Leadership & Development Classes as assigned

  • Working knowledge of department level reports as assigned

  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

PHYSICAL AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Able to work in multiple temperature zones

  • Safely maneuver the facility without breaking OSHA regulation

This position will perform duties assigned within the Assembly department including but not limited to: * Provide leadership and assist with the training of Production Technicians * Ability to fill any position and complete any task within assigned team * Aligning and securing generator components as directed by work instruction * Aligning and installing gaskets, seals, bearings, hoses, covers, and visual components * Ensure that parts and materials used in the assembly process are free from quality defects * Assist other departments with problem solving or improvement ideas related to assembly * Performs duties assigned within the Quality department including but not limited to: * Provide leadership and assist with the training of Production Technicians * Ability to fill any position and complete any task within assigned team * Verifying correct alignment of generator components using generator and electrical schematics and part prints * Inspect parts and materials to ensure they are free from quality defects * Perform audits and carry out quality inspections to correct known defects * Perform torque audits, leak tests, and visual inspection on all engines * Performs duties assigned within the Materials department including but not limited to: * Provide leadership and assist with the training of Production Technicians * Ability to fill any position and complete any task within assigned team * Shipping and receiving parts and verifying invoices to ensure inventory accuracy * Ensure that materials received and delivered are free from quality defects * Re-pack and arrange parts for warehouse storage or delivery to the assembly area * Operate forklifts and tuggers to move materials within the facility * Accurate and efficient delivery and removal of materials * Submit and assist with the resolution of C.P.S. Continuous Improvement cards * Follow standard operating procedures and area specific work instructions * Provide information to supervisors and managers about processes within assigned area * All other duties as assigned Qualifications Basic Qualifications: * Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Office applications * Basic Knowledge of Standard Assembly tools and applications * 1 year manufacturing & supervisory experience Physical Requirements (with or without reasonable accommodation): * Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods * Ability to perform repetitive operations * Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. Top Candidates will also have: * Advanced proficiency (Advanced skills/knowledge. Capable of functioning independently) using Standard Assembly tools (torque wrenches, pneumatic tools, etc.) and their applications. * Experience working with lean manufacturing principles such as following standard work, continuous improvement, eliminating process waste, and 5S * Advanced level of proficiency (Advanced skills/knowledge.
