Associate Teacher/Early Head Start - Bulletin #205-24

Under the "No Child Left Behind Act of 2001", the law requires that paraprofessionals who assist in classroom instruction meet specific guidelines. This position requires ALL of the following:

• Possess an Associate's Degree in early childhood education, child development or related field

• Possess an Associate Teacher Permit or higher

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Valid pediatric CPR and pediatric First Aid certification issued by the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association

• Sixteen (16) hours of Health Education to meet title XXII requirements to include EMSA approved preventive health practices with nutrition component

• Valid San Bernardino County Department of Public Health Food Handler Certification Card or FUSD approved Food Handler's Card issued in conformance with County of San Bernardino Public Health Services standards

• Six (6) months of experience working in a licensed childcare center DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION: - Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Development or related field.

• Minimum of one (1) year of work experience working with children in an educational setting.
