Position will be responsible for IT Hardware inventory control and distribution here at the SSC. Responsibilities will include managing and distributing inventory for Desktop Refresh, New Hires at the SSC, TSM tablets for existing and new users, MIFI's and other IT related hardware and consumables needed on a daily basis. Position is operationally focused and monitors, maintains, and supports hardware, and other operational systems. This may include acquiring domain knowledge, growing technical skills, supporting the customers, resolving problems, functional/technical requirements gathering, documentation, estimation, planning and project management.


  • Regularly maintains, upgrades and supports existing systems to ensure operational stability for business groups.

  • Understands new and existing system requirements and installs the necessary hardware and equipment infrastructure to meet these requirements.

  • Monitors health of hardware systems to ensure that established SLAs are met.

  • Increases knowledge of AutoZone systems. Keeps abreast of all innovations and changes to AutoZone systems to ensure the ability to use the appropriate tools and training to provide quality support.

  • Provides training on systems to maximize operator efficiency and increase speed and accuracy of customer service.

  • Provides customer support by answering business partner questions and maintaining a presence at a "help desk" or other customer point of contact.

  • Performs functional / planning and project management on small projects or portions of large projects.


  • Associate's degree preferred, or a high school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.), or equivalent formal training program with specialized training and one to two years' experience.

  • Typically requires one to two years' experience based on consistently demonstrated capabilities.

  • Knowledge of MS Office.

  • Novice functional and/or business knowledge.

  • Technical skills may include experience with one or more of: UNIX, Linux, Windows, Cobol, Java, MS SQL, C, C++, Informix, Greenplum, Hadoop, ATG, QT4, Oracle, PostgreSQLOracle, PostgreSQL, PostgreSQL, DB2/SQL, JCL, CSP, CICS, TCP/IP, Networking, LAN administration, data analysis, computer operations, or customer service.

  • Basic problem solving, relevant domain and analytical skills.

  • Functional/technical requirements gathering and documentation.

  • Small project management estimating, planning, controlling, and execution.

  • May require supervision in order to complete tasks.

As an Inventory Management Specialist you will provide inventory process exception research and advanced clerical support, along with problem-solving resolution for North America Supply Chain's distribution center facilities; with the primary goal of ensuring adequate inventory levels are maintained to maximize customer satisfaction. Working with limited direct supervision, the Inventory Control Specialist is responsible to review and resolve inventory exceptions as well as distribute daily reports to inventory control and cross functional operations management, using a computerized inventory system. The Inventory Control Specialist may act as an informal resource to peers as needed. Job Responsibilities include: * Perform inventory balancing between WMoS and SAP including monitoring failed transactions and executing inventory adjustments which interface to the company's financial records. Provide issue resolution and reporting regarding inventory exceptions; such as, wave deselections, blocked inventory, virtual inventory, broken pre-packs, ASN aging, disposition of inactive product, special projects as necessary, etc. Tasks coordination for, routine administrative tasks, and support of cross functional team's assessments of unit adjustments. Tasks related to informal training of peers (as needed). Acts as an informal resource for colleagues with less experience. Skilled in multiple processes or has developed a deep skillset in a single process (i.e. relationship of WMoS to SAP, product flow, etc.) Comfortable acting as an informal resource for colleagues with less experience and being consulted when problem solving is needed. Capable of using existing processes to solve complex problems (i.e. system imbalances, virtual inventory overview, inventory accuracy and adjustments, as defined by local work instructions and in conformance with SC Ops & DS2P expectations).Capable of handling ambiguity and working with limited supervision. Qualifications Qualifications: * Bachelor degree+1 year or Associates degree + 2 years. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 3 years relevant work experience * Inside Operations: May be required to perform a wide variety of physical tasks which are generally basic, repetitive, and routine in nature. May be required to sit or stand for long periods of time, in addition to being required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, push, or pull. May be frequently required to reach with hands and arms, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel small and medium sized components while operating machinery and exerting force or lift up to 50 pounds. May be called upon to perform physical and quality checks requiring sufficient visual acuity to identify quality flaws and distinguish colors on small components. * May be required to work with toxic or caustic chemicals, and be exposed to fumes or airborne particles. May be required to work with or near large machinery and moving mechanical parts so they may be subject to higher noise levels, vibration, and there may be a risk of electrical shock.
