Responsibilities:
Integration & Test
Performs routine assembly tasks and integration of components for testing.
Operates data acquisition systems and performs basic data validation and analysis.
Performs basic data preprocessing, descriptive statistical analysis, and visualizations.
Understands principles and functions of various measurement instruments in testing.
Contributes to basic software design tasks.
Develops test plans, identifies objectives, defines procedures, and creates schedules independently.
Design
Recognizes different battery types and contributes to basic design tasks.
Understands basic principles of cable or wire harness design.
Understands rocket motor ignition systems and common configurations.
Can independently apply design principles and generate actuator designs.
Understands solid rocket motor systems and interpreting design specifications.
System Performance
Standard control techniques for simple control systems.
Interpretation and implementation of control system diagrams and specifications.
Understanding of MATLAB/Simulink for data analysis and simulations.
Communications
Handles complex communication scenarios, including group discussions and adapting style.
Demonstrates effective written communication skills.
Can handle complex presentation requirements, including data visualizations and interactive presentations.
Can handle complex technical content, adapting presentation style, and moderate Q&A sessions.
Can independently produce simple technical documents using clear language and basic writing conventions.
Analysis
Basic principles and concepts of CFD.
Basic simulations and analysis tasks for structural and thermal.
Systems Engineering
Basic knowledge of configuration management tools and processes.
Awareness of MBSE concepts and methodologies.
Elicitation and documentation of requirements.
Identification and documentation of risks.
Understanding of verification planning and purpose of verification activities.
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science required in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or other relevant engineering discipline from an accredited university. May consider equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
Two (2) to four (4) years of mechanical engineering experience.
Must be able to travel approximately 10% of the time.
Preferences:
Salary Range: $58,579 to $120,502/year
