JOB DESCRIPTION

The Associate Systems Engineer, Broadcast & Media Technology position will be responsible for providing support & maintenance to our large infrastructure of media and broadcast systems. The Associate Systems Engineer will work closely with multiple support teams across all systems and services in a 24/7 live news environment.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support large infrastructure of media and on-air broadcast systems

  • Perform software installations and maintain system updates

  • Track issues through resolution, while communicating with both engineering, management and operational production teams

  • Interface with vendors and manufacturers to research and address support issues, feature requests, create bug reports

  • Provide product and support training as well as develop documentation for both technical and non-technical groups pertaining to media workflows

  • Manage multiple 3D software, Animation Creation and Real-time graphics platforms

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • 1+ years of computer system maintenance and support experience.

  • Administrate & Support Window 10, Windows Server 2012 & 2016 platforms

  • Administrate & Support Redhat and Centos OS platforms

  • Experience in AWS Infrastructure and Cloud services a plus

  • Administrate & Support VM and Virtualized environments

  • Experience with software deployment and centralized system management such as SCCM

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Demonstrate strong skills in the areas of analysis, organization, and escalation

  • Excellent communication skills, with a cool levelheaded approach

  • Ability to clearly communicate actions and/or next steps

  • Strong desire to learn and cross-train in new technologies and passion to maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies

  • Demonstrate strong skills in the areas of analysis, organization, and escalation

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, working independently and as part of a team in a collaborative manner

The position requires a solid technical IT background to maintain on-air operations of server-based digital video and audio control systems, graphics and non-linear editing systems, automation systems and their associated software and hardware infrastructure, as well as maintenance, installation and design of traditional broadcast equipment. * Configure, service and support all aspects of on-air and post-production broadcast automation systems; specifically network configurations and control platforms. * Provide technical (hardware, software, and networking) support for NY-based Post Production facility including: Adobe Premier, Microsoft and Apple Operating systems, IP networking and video equipment including EVS. * Coordinate and execute the implementation of new project initiatives and technologies as well as the routine day to day troubleshooting and maintenance functions on all broadcast network systems. * Provide system integration in both production and post-production infrastructure including but not limited to: System build out and integration, cable fabrication, cable installation, equipment installation and documentation creation/revision. * Support, troubleshoot, and maintain the integrity and security of the storage area networks and asset management systems.
