Superintendent of Schools STATUS: Regular Full Time, Exempt PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITIONS: Expressing the vision of Catholic education for the Archdiocese of San Francisco, Archbishop Cordileone believes that "Catholic schools should be a place where people come to know, love and serve Jesus Christ and that school should be an extension of the ministry of the Church." The Associate Superintendent supports this mission by helping Catholic schools within the Archdiocese of San Francisco carry out the ministry of Catholic education, supporting the integration of Catholic faith and culture into the life of our schools.

In particular, the Associate Superintendent assists schools in leadership support and development, pedagogical formation, and curricular assessment and enrichment. The Associate Superintendent works collaboratively within the Department of Catholic Schools and with the Director of Catholic Identity Formation & Assessment to implement the Mission and Goals of the Department of Catholic Schools. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES (AND OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED): 1. Support the Pastors and Principals in Approximately Ten-to-Fifteen Regional Archdiocesan Parish Elementary Schools ? Develop collaborative partnerships with school principals to advance the mission of Catholic education in the Archdiocese of San Francisco ? Assist elementary principals in implementing and assessing various Catholic Identity practices, including the Catholic Identity Factors as part of the Western Catholic Education Association (WCEA)/Western Association of Schools & Colleges (WASC) Accreditation process. ? Support principals in meeting their day-to-day responsibilities as Catholic school administrators. ?
