Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is hiring for an Associate Production Operations Specialist

  • Airplane Assist (Level 2) to join the 787 Operations Team in North Charleston, South Carolina on 2nd shift! Shift hours are: 2:00pm

  • 10:30pm. Domestic traveling will be required up to 25% as needed.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Install & Remove Force mate Bushings.

  • Roller Swaging, Shrink Fit Bushings.

  • Ball Staking, Roto Peen, Shot Peen, Interface Deburr.

  • Hole Pulling, Fabricate Freeze Plugs, Fabricate bushings and alignment pins.

  • Bushing removal and install, Helicoil Install/Removal.

  • Use of bomb sights.

  • Ability to measure Hole diameter, Hole Angularity (Perpendicularity Gage), Chamfers.

  • Ability to Use Calipers, Micrometers, Radius gages, Depth gages, height gages, Countersink Gages and Indicators.

  • Ability to read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

  • Must maintain all necessary certifications to perform the job.

  • Exhibits Boeing Behaviors.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at North Charleston, SC.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Ability to work 2nd shift.

  • Must be able to travel domestically up to 25%.

  • 1+ years of experience as technical structural mechanic.

  • 1+ years of experience reading, understanding, and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain fall protection.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain confined space certification.

  • Ability to work at heights up to 50 feet.

  • Ability to bend, kneel, and use hand tools for extended periods of time.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of Aerospace, Fabrication, or Manufacturing experience.

  • 1+ years of 787 Program Experience.

  • 3+ years of experience in a team environment.

  • 1+ years of Team Leadership (Formal/Informal) experience.

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically 3 or more years' related work experience with Heavy structures rework and or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+1years related work experience ,7 years' related work experience, etc.).

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Summary pay range: $62,050-$83,950.
