Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Software Test Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.

The Common Open Mission System Architecture group is seeking a software test engineer for Subsystem CSCI Testing and Integration support in an Agile Software development environment. This position requires excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with a multidisciplinary Integrated Product Team. Candidate must be able to build automated tests using python to conduct incremental component level testing and integration of product functionality.

Essential Functions:

  • Reviewing, interpreting and analyzing formal and informal requirements

  • Creating Test Plans and Procedures that acknowledge technical and schedule constraints

  • Executing Test Procedures to ensure requirements compliance

  • Supporting development, integration, and execution of test pass/fail quantitative metrics

  • Performing troubleshooting as required

  • Documenting Test results and creating Test Reports as needed

  • Writing Defects and Software discrepancies

  • Performing Component to Component Integration

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) discipline.

  • Ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance and program access

  • Experience scripting using python

  • Experience integrating and testing software subsystems into system

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering

  • Familiarity with testing and integrating safety critical systems (C/C software)

  • Familiarity with software development tools such as Git, CMake, VectorCAST, and Eclipse

  • Knowledge of Linux systems and basic commands

  • Familiarity with writing Test Scripts

  • Familiarity with Atlassian tool suite with add-ons like Jira and confluence

  • Familiarity with Agile SW development process

  • Familiarity with Hardware Software Compatibility matrix process

Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a hands-on Software Engineer with experience working in a process-oriented software development environment to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals performing software integration and test located in Melbourne, Fl. The candidate should be cognizant of software design modeling and testing best practices. The position calls for an individual capable of understanding delivered software, troubleshooting and documenting any defects, and working to resolve any issues with the developers. The successful candidate will work closely with integration teams across the program and will be responsible for ensuring the delivered product is properly integrated and tested into the greater system. He or she would be able to perform technical planning, system integration, verification, and validation for total systems. Finally, the candidate will ensures all software and testing standards are met. Essential Functions: * Participates with fellow team members in technical design of software components and capabilities. * Interfaces with Engineers of other disciplines to help with design solutions. * Develops software in accordance with the planned design and conducts unit and integration testing on developed software. * Investigates and resolves identified software deficiencies. Basic Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of software engineering or software testing experience OR Master's Degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university with 0 years of software engineering or software testing experience. * Experience with an Object-oriented language and Graphical User Interfaces. * Academic or work-related experience with writing and executing test procedures. * Active DoD Secret security clearance with ability to obtain and maintain Secret security clearance with SAP level access. Preferred Qualifications: * Experience with Java, JavaFX, JavaScript, Ruby, Python. * Experience in a DevOps environment * Familiar with Maven, Subversion and/or Git, configuration management, Eclipse, automated testing tools, requirements analysis and documentation, and Junit.
