Accountabilities
The Associate Signaling V&V Engineer will be required to perform the following duties:
(1) Ensuring the delivery of the signaling system and subsystem V&V reports for various projects;
(2) Supporting the definition of the signaling system and subsystem V&V plan;
(3) Supporting the definition of the requirements and expected features for the testing environments/tools, needed to execute the Signaling system and subsystem Validation activities/ testing;
(4) Supporting subsystem suppliers in provision of V&V evidence; and
(5) Defining the signaling system and subsystem Validation Test Specification and the implementation of signaling system and subsystem V&V according to reliability, availability, maintainability, and safety governance directions and company processes and guidelines.
Required Skills/ Knowledge
Must have any experience with:
(1) EN 50128, 55011, IEEE 1558, AREMA and other V&V standards and methods for testing hardware and software for the railway industry;
(2) documenting solutions and technical issues found during the testing;
(3) developing test environments and test cases for hardware and software developed products based on customer and system requirements; and
(4) collecting, analyzing, and verifying compliance of V&V evidence provided by suppliers.
Must have knowledge of:
(1) DOORS or RTC requirement management tools;
(2) ANSYS or Abaqus Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools;
(3) C++ or Python programming language and
(4) environmental type testing: shock and vibration, temperature testing, and water ingress testing.
Education/Qualifications
(1) A Master's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
(2) Six months of Engineering experience is required.
In accordance with the DOT's FRA and FTA programs, Hitachi's substance screening program tests pre-employment candidates and current employees, as required for safety-sensitive positions.
