Workdays: Monday

  • Friday, occasional evenings/weekends

Work hours: 8:30 a.m.

  • 5 p.m. (evenings/weekends as needed)

Summary:

Under the general direction of the Senior Director, the Associate Senior Director of Community Engagement is responsible for management and operations of programs and services to enhance the services to the community at Guadalupe Community Center which serves the Archdiocese of San Antonio. This involves fiscal and programmatic oversight, including budget management, staff supervision, capacity-building, grants/contract compliance, and performance management to ensure delivery of high-quality services and programs. The Associate Senior Director is responsible for day-to-day operations and overall growth and sustainability of the following programs: Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA), After School Program, St. Phocas Garden, Wellness Fairs, Project Cool, and Special Events.

Position Responsibilities:

Day to Day Operations

  • *Oversees the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program which is responsible for volunteer recruitment, training, and placement as well as year-round tax services.
  • *Oversee the After-School Program and summer camps which operate year-round to the community serving youth ages 5-18.
  • *Oversee the St. Phocas Garden by providing education and engagement activities around the concept of organic gardening and sustainability.
  • *Plan, organize, and expand Wellness and Community Resource Fairs to offer the community access to free health screenings and informational services/resources to better overall health and wellness.
  • *Execute and oversee the Project Cool program which provides free box fans to older adults during the summer months
  • *Plan and execute special events for Guadalupe Community Center which includes but is not limited to holiday events to include Little Pumpkin Palooza, food distributions, and summer movie nights.
  • *Conduct community outreach and attend meetings to increase strategic partnerships in benefit of Guadalupe Community Center and applicable programming.

Administrative and Fiscal Responsibilities

  • *Develop and maintain program budget in consultation with appropriate staff members.
  • *Responsible for compliance to federal grant regulations including programmatic and fiscal oversight.
  • *Responsible for on-going monitoring of program budgets and expenses, including budget revisions when appropriate.
  • *Complete purchase requisitions in accounting software and coding of receipts in credit card platform on time and with accuracy.
  • *Ensure program compliance with policies, procedures, and performance outcomes established by funders, accrediting bodies, and Catholic Charities.
  • *Prepare performance, fiscal, and statistical reports for necessary positions, funding sources, and other external stakeholders.
  • *Prepare and monitor agency reports for program quality improvement (PQI).
  • *Ensure maintenance of confidential files and record-keeping systems.
  • *Identify, gather and analyze data relative to trends in program areas.
  • *Develop and monitor systems for efficient workflow.
  • *Prepare grant applications and implement grant-funded projects.
  • *Work with volunteer department to recruit, train, and retain interns/volunteers to help in program areas.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • *This position is responsible for recruitment, hiring and training of all staff under their supervision and will make recommendations for termination of employees.

  • *To develop and implement employee development plans for program employees.

  • *Must ensure the completion of all required professional development assignments in a timely manner for their direct reports,

  • *Must complete all required professional development assigned in a timely manner

  • Must be sensitive to the service population's cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.

  • Adhering to safety training and protocols on a daily basis and taking precautionary measure to ensure the safety and well-being of self, others.

  • Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization to include but not limited to client names and information, services rendered to clients, donors names and gifts, internal and external investigations or results of any investigations, and financial information.

  • Adherence to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Moral is mandatory.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education

  • Bachelor's degree in social service field or business-related field preferred by not required.

  • Experience

  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in relevant program experience with at least 2 years of experience in leadership role.

  • License and Credentials

  • Reliable transportation

  • Valid driver license

  • Clean driving record

  • Valid vehicle insurance

Minimum Knowledge and Skills:

  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in relevant program experience with at least 2 years of experience in leadership role.

  • Extensive working knowledge of social services and customer services,

  • Experience with computer software and Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Publisher)

  • A solid grasp of trauma informed care and ability to problem solve.

  • Must be detail oriented, organized, self-motivated, work well independently and on a team.

  • Must have good written and verbal skills.

  • Must have good critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred

Travel Requirements:

Travel requirements for the position includes 50% local and 0% overnight.
