Terremoto Biosciences is looking for a talented Associate Scientist/Scientist, In Vivo Pharmacology. This individual will be responsible for planning, designing, conducting, and analyzing in vivo experiments to support the progression of multiple programs. The position would be a key member of the In Vivo Pharmacology team and report to the Head of In Vivo Pharmacology.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute in vivo studies to support target validation and compound testing including PK/PD, efficacy, and mechanisms of action studies

  • Perform formulation and administration of test articles for in vivo studies

  • Perform in vivo experimental procedures including dosing, tissue collection and processing

  • Maintain scientific documentation in an electronic lab notebook.

  • Proactively review literature to bring in newest scientific findings, ideas, and methods/technologies for discovery research.

  • Analyze, interpret, summarize, and present research findings in internal scientific meetings as part of our collaborative learning culture.

  • Identify and manage CROs and academic collaborations.

  • Work closely with Biology, Translational Medicine, DMPK, and Project teams to determine key pharmacology questions, seek solutions, and meet long-term project goals.

  • Comply with IACUC regulations.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree with a minimum of 7 years, or Ph.D. with a minimum of 2 years, in a relevant biological field with in vivo experience in either an industry or academic setting. The level of Associate Scientist/Scientist will be determined based on the candidate's experience.

  • Proficient in handling rodents, dosing via IV, IP, SC, IM, PO, collecting blood by different methods, small animal surgery, harvesting and processing tissue to support ex-vivo assessment.

  • Demonstrated experience using rodent disease models to study oncology/immuno-oncology

  • Experience in managing CRO on in vivo study activities.

  • Experience and knowledge in genetic engineering, molecular profiling methodologies, histology/immunohistology, FACS and in vivo imaging.

  • Experience and knowledge of the regulatory requirements to run an in vivo facility and to remain compliant with IACUC regulations.

  • Highly motivated, ability to work within a dynamic, matrixed environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.

  • The anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in South San Francisco, CA is $125,000 to $140,000. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type, and length of experience within the industry, education, etc. Terremoto Biosciences, is a multi-state employer and this salary range may not reflect positions that work only in other states.
