Biologics

Frontage's biologics teams have an average of 10 - 15 years in complex drug development and have worked with large molecule applications throughout its evolution in product development. We can handle projects for a range of large molecule development projects including peptides, proteins, monoclonal antibodies, bispecific antibodies, biosimilars, oligonucleotides, biomarkers, and antibody drug conjugates.

Position Summary

This position will work with Client's Cell and Gene Department API and offers an exciting opportunity to help develop novel Cell and Gene Therapies for unmet medical needs. We are seeking a highly motivated scientist to join a group that is responsible for developing and transferring the Lentiviral vector manufacturing process to GMP facility. The successful scientist will design and execute small scale studies, compile, and analyze data and report to the project team.

Responsibilities

  • Small-scale viral vector production in mammalian cell culture by shake flask and virus purification by depth filtration, affinity or IEX chromatography, TFF etc.

  • Performing a range of viral vector characterization assays such as viral potency measurements, particle size, DLS, and ELISA.

  • The candidate is expected to work in a team environment as well as contributing individually to meet project timeline and objective.

  • Abilities to lead by influence and communicate across teams with a diverse set of backgrounds.

  • Participates on project teams to advance discovery portfolio projects.

  • Presents/defends scientific findings in multi-functional project teams/initiatives.

  • Independently designs, analyzes, and interprets experimental results and technical reports, etc.

  • Champion technology development efforts aimed at fulfilling strategic long-term multispecific antibody development and validate technology for portfolio readiness.

  • Responsible for maintaining an electronic lab notebook, participation in GLP compliance activities and other duties as needed.

  • Performs job duties with some supervision. Collaborates effectively with fellow team members following priorities, checkpoints, and timelines in support of objectives set by direct supervisors.

  • Communicates with internal and external team members regarding assigned tasks through written and oral communication.

Requirements

  • B.S. or M.S. in biology, virology, or a related scientific field with 2+ years of experience.

  • 2-3 Years of Chromatography/Protein Purification experience required.

  • Experience with electronic lab notes preferred.

  • Experience with analytical techniques preferred (ELISA, western blotting, etc.)

  • Demonstrated experience in collaborative scientific team.

  • Demonstration of clear, and concise communication skills.

Significant Safety or Working Considerations:

  • May work with potentially infectious samples of human and/or animal origin.

  • May handle hazardous chemicals.
