Position Summary:

Currently, we are seeking an experienced lab scientist to join our growing DMPK bioanalytical team. This individual will be contributing towards in vitro/in vivo studies in drug discovery, especially for early-stage programs in the company portfolio using LC-MS and related lab skills for quantitative bioanalysis. This is a matrixed position that will involve frequent interactions with discovery research team members from cross-functional groups such as Chemistry, in vivo Biology, in vitro Biology, and Toxicology.

Position Location: Onsite role in San Diego, CA

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

These may include but are not limited to:

  • Develop fit-for-purpose LC-MS/MS method and conduct sample analysis for PK and biomarkers to provide in-house bioanalytical support to Crinetics' discovery and development projects.

  • Prepare samples in biological matrices using manual or semi-automated methods and conduct analysis by LC-MS to support non-GLP studies.

  • Generate and report high quality bioanalytical data to the matrix team expediently.

  • Document work and maintain study documentation.

  • Participate and present results at the cross-functional project meetings.

  • Present scientific findings at external meetings.

  • Assist in the evaluation of new technologies and techniques and conduct innovative research in bioanalysis.

  • Participate actively in the process to optimize workflow to improve efficiency in discovery bioanalytical support.

  • Troubleshoot basic mass spectrometry/HPLC issues.

Education and Experience:

Required:

  • BS/MS in a relevant scientific field with 10 years of experience in a bioanalytical function, in LC-MS/MS method development and sample analysis.

  • Hands on experience in method optimization and biological sample preparation and analysis of small molecules using LC-MS.

  • Proficient at advanced LC-MS instrument operation and troubleshooting (Shimadzu, Waters, Sciex, Agilent).

  • Strong written, presentation and verbal communication skills.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Physical Activities: On a continuous basis, sit at desk for a long period of time; write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means. Some walking and lifting up to 25 lbs. may be required. The noise level in the work environment is typically low to moderate. Laboratory Activities (if applicable): Biology and chemical laboratory environment experience needed. Environmental health and safety requirements also apply.

Travel:

You may be required to travel for up to 5% of your time.

The Anticipated Base Salary Range: $117,000-$135,000

In addition to your base pay, our total rewards program consists of a discretionary annual target bonus, stock options, ESPP, and 401k match. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience and education. Crinetics Pharmaceuticals is a multi-state employer, and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
