ROLE SUMMARY

The qualified candidate will take an active role in supporting drug development by applying a variety of analytical methodologies to support physical and chemical characterization of drug substances (including raw materials and intermediates) and drug products. Working knowledge and ability to operate analytical (e.g., HPLC-MS, GC-MS, spectroscopy) and physical (e.g., particle size, dissolution) techniques used for the characterization of pharmaceutical substances and products is desired.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performing laboratory work in support of analytical testing of pharmaceutical projects with some experience in any of the following analytical methodologies: chromatography, KF, particle size, dissolution, or mass spectrometry.

  • Job responsibilities may include running analytical methods; performing stability and release testing; testing to support pharmaceutical development efforts;documentation of experimental results; direct interaction with project team members, including presentation of data; critical review of data and preparation of technical reports.

  • The individual should also be proficient with a wide-variety of software and information systems.

  • The colleague must be able to interact effectively with peers and leaders as part of a multi-disciplinary team and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

  • Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask, and effective interpersonal and communication skills are required.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • BA/BS Chemistry or related field

  • Minimum of 6 months relevant experience either in a GMP lab environment, or an academic or industrial research lab.

  • Ability to meet project milestones under general supervision, manage expectations for specific projects, ensure delivery of technology/transfer/submission-ready technology, data and documents.

  • Experience in problem-solving skills and instrument trouble-shooting.

  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills, especially adherence to laboratory notebook practices.

  • Experience with a wide-variety of software and information systems (e.g. electronic lab notebooks, Empower and LIMS).

The candidate should also be proficient with a wide-variety of software and information systems and have a demonstrated ability to learn new techniques and solve complex analytical problems. Some experience with mathematical modeling and coding is also desired. Role Responsibilities * As a project analyst, the candidate will be responsible for developing analytical strategies in support of pharmaceutical drug products during all development phases, including supporting manufacturing process development, developing, validating and transferring analytical methods, designing stability studies for shelf life assignments, and developing impurity control strategies. * The candidate will perform lab work and may direct or review the lab work of other scientists. * The role requires effective communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary team members, including presenting data at team meetings and active involvement in solving technical challenges that arise during development. * The candidate must be able to collaborate with and mentor peers as well as effectively interact with leaders. * The candidate will author relevant sections of global regulatory submissions in support of new drug approvals.
