Job Description:

In the Commvault Cloud Sales Engineering Academy (CCSEA), you will receive comprehensive training in an intense program designed to equip you with technical expertise supporting the sales process. As an Associate Sales Engineer, you'll undergo a year-long journey of self-driven learning, reinforcing foundational IT concepts and mastering the intricacies of Commvault Cloud products, platform, and services. Your proficiency in proposing and demonstrating our suite of products through remote demos, proof of concepts, and presentations will be continuously honed and evaluated.

Upon advancement to the role of Inside Sales Engineer, you'll take on a quota and lead all aspects of sales campaigns in collaboration with your aligned Account Executives. This role serves as a steppingstone towards broader career opportunities in outside field sales, senior inside sales, management, or specialized selling roles. Successful candidates typically possess a strong drive for growth and advancement, proactively seeking opportunities to expand their responsibilities and drive business impact.

What You'll Do:

  • Engage in daily virtual and classroom training sessions, supplementing knowledge through self-directed research, assessments, and presentations to internal mentorship teams.

  • Cultivate expertise in complementary technologies such as virtualization, storage infrastructure, servers, cloud, DevOps, containerization, and SaaS applications.

  • Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements by actively researching sales, technical, and marketing publications, participating in product webinars, and conducting hands-on lab work.

  • Demonstrate fundamental understanding of IT concepts, focusing on data protection, networking, storage, and systems administration.

  • Shadow experienced sales engineers to glean best practices in presenting technical solutions and articulating business value to customers.

  • Develop proficiency in proposing and demonstrating the Commvault suite of products through remote demos, whiteboard sessions, and presentations.

  • Engage with customers, building relationships and qualifying opportunities to drive company revenue.

  • Support Inside SE team by conducting technical research, creating architecture diagrams, reviewing recordings, and assisting with RFP responses.

  • Utilize internal mentors to enhance knowledge and experience continuously.

  • Prepare for customer meetings by conducting ongoing technical research and validating understanding.

  • Lead product demonstrations to showcase the technical and business value of the Commvault Cloud platform.

  • Take ownership of the technical aspects of sales campaigns to drive toward technical closure.

  • Collaborate with internal departments (sales, support, marketing, development) as needed to ensure success during sales campaigns and maintain a positive customer experience.

  • Contribute to the development of internal procedures to facilitate knowledge transfer and operational efficiency.

Who you are:

  • Basic working understanding of cloud, server/storage systems and data protection fundamentals.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience delivering presentations and demonstrations.

  • Background in Computer Science or Engineering

  • Background in Sales Engineer and/or Solution Architecture

  • Background in Cloud Architecture

  • Training in formal and technical writing

  • Entry-level Cloud certification or coursework

Thank you for your interest in Commvault. Total compensation for this role is market competitive, and within the below base salary range:

$51,000 - $97,800
