Description An Associate Researcher II position is currently available within the laboratory of Dr. Marcellino within the Tisch Cancer Institute, division of Hematology/Medical Oncology.

The laboratory focuses on understanding the mechanisms of tumor cell dissemination during metastasis; using a strong combination of microscopy techniques (in vivo multiphoton, confocal and FRET microscopy, light-sheet microscopy and super resolution imaging), analytical imaging approaches, as well as molecular biology and biochemistry techniques. The candidate will have a unique opportunity to work in a stimulating scientific environment. We are looking for an enthusiastic, organized and highly motivated individual who will be responsible for daily maintenance/ care of laboratory operations as well as performing laboratory work in support of scientific research conducted in the lab.

The individual will report directly to a Principal Investigator. Responsibilities Under limited supervision, conducts experiments using advanced research techniques specific to subject matter of the research project. Analyzes and assists in interpreting moderately complex results.

Performs assays to support research studies. Assists in the collection, analysis and review of experimental data for publication and presentation. May train less-experienced research staff and postdoctoral fellows in research techniques and use of equipment.

Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Sciences with at least 2 years' experience in a research environment. Or, Master's degree in Biology or Biochemistry or a closely related field.

Knowledge of basic laboratory techniques such as tissue culture, molecular biology skills such as DNA isolation, PCR and electrophoresis and protein biochemistry. Experience in microscopy, immunofluorescence techniques as well as live cell imaging and in vivo imaging skills highly desirable. Willing to work with rodents and comfortable with mice handling.

Excellent organizational, problem solving and analytical skills. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Knowledge of standard research concepts.

The salary range for the role is $58660.91 - $78733.02 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need.
