This position is responsible for coordinating several major functions within the office, including pre-registration and registration, development of the class schedule, and the accurate dissemination of information to lending institutions and the national student clearinghouse. This position is also responsible for a variety of office functions including the maintenance of student records and supervising additional office staff. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
Assume responsibility in the absence of the Registrar;
Work to advance the office in efficiency, effectiveness, and continuous improvement;
Supervise office staff;
Assist with technological processes as they relate to the student information and other departmental systems;
Act as an IT liaison concerning interoffice and university system projects related to the student side, and technical issues;
Lead and/or assist with new processes, systems, and software implementations;
Manage and approve student information system updates for the office;
Work with IT to approve and implement system access for personnel;
Perform general training on registrar-related programs and procedures;
Assist in completing tasks on the operational processing calendar, which includes beginning-of-term and end-of-term processing;
Perform data extractions for the national student clearinghouse, lenders, and internal staff;
Manage registrar documentation of job tasks and work with staff members to develop procedures for their various areas of responsibility;
Oversee transcripts, verifications, scanning, registration, and reporting processes;
Assist with the accuracy of data and published course schedules each semester;
Process course catalog updates;
Supervise all phases of student registration;
Schedule all students who are registered with disability support services;
Process grade changes, repeat/recompute, and other student academic record updates;
Assist with study abroad credit processing and tuition waivers;
Serve as point-of-contact for GPA problems and academic standing concerns;
Perform degree audits and assist with degree audit troubleshooting;
Advise and counsel students, faculty, and staff on policies and procedures;
Serve students, faculty and staff by answering questions and resolving student issues;
Assist with preparation for graduation ceremonies and work the events;
Establish corrective action for issues dealing with technical and operational programs or processes;
Determine and solve problems associated with student services, transcripts, verifications, registration, and faculty issues concerning policies, courses and scheduling;
Assist faculty, staff, and students with student information system concerns;
Supervise, train, and provide work direction assistance for the One Stop, transcript processing, verifications, Xtender scanning, and registration;
Identify and resolve issues relating to staff members and/or the office;
Perform all other duties as assigned.

Bachelor's degree, required;
Master's degree, preferred;
Two to five years of prior experience within a university registrar setting is required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing;
Ability to work with minimum supervision and effectively supervise others;
Ability to proficiently operate a PC and type at a reasonable rate of speed;
Working knowledge of accepted office practices;
Ability to use Microsoft Office software;
Ability to maintain data and navigate in student information systems - currently Banner, ODS, and ARGOS;
Ability to coordinate activities with other employees and other departments on campus;
Ability to make decisions in accordance with established office procedures;
Ability to learn applicable computer software;
Ability to interact effectively with an increasingly diverse array of students faculty, staff, administrators, vendors, parents, and the general public.
