Position Description:
Serving with and working under the Provost, the Associate Provost for Online Education (APOE) is responsible to design, build, and oversee the online academic ecosystem that sustains vibrant online learning, thus serving our online population as well as the academic teams that support them. Working collaboratively across the institution, the APOE is responsible to define and ensure an outstanding academic online student experience that is measurable and which results in both increased retention and missional graduates. By academic online student experience we mean the quality of education, experience in the classroom, and academic supports to ensure student success, and a robust online educational experience that is biblical, missional and formational.
Provide Leadership for:
\t
- The Office of Digital Learning
\t
- Online Faculty Support Services
\t
- Online Faculty Mentoring Services
Key Collaborators:
\t
\t
- Academic Leadership Team (Deans & Provost Staff)
\t
\t
- Vice President of Enrollment Management
Education Requirements:
\t
- A master's degree in education or a related field; doctorate preferred.
\t
- 5+ years of professional experience in higher education as a senior administrator or faculty member.
Key Responsibilities:
Online Academic Student Success
\t
- Utilize data analytics to identify challenges and opportunities for enhancing online student academic success.
\t
- Collaborate with Ally Center in best practices to support and enhance online student academic success.
\t
- Lead the College's Online Retention Committee, collaborating with representatives from each academic department and other key stakeholders.
\t
- Provide leadership in the design, development and evaluation of online learning initiatives aligned with the institutional mission and goals.
\t
- Collaborate with the Director of Global Student Success to ensure student success inside and outside of the digital classroom.
Online Performance Management
\t
- Oversee a quality assurance program for online curriculum and instructors.
\t
- Establish measurable goals and performance expectations for curriculum and online instructors.
\t
- Establish and monitor growth metrics to recommend and implement systems and policy that foster online student success
Curriculum & Learning Design
\t
- Coordinate the development of new online academic program offerings.
\t
- Facilitate curriculum/course development utilizing technology-enhanced learning formats and industry best practices
\t
- Collaborate with external partners to support online learning initiatives
Industry Innovation
\t
- Establish metrics and regular assessment relative to online courses and educational materials for pedagogical soundness and accessibility.
\t
- Collaborate with VPEM to identify new markets for online programs
\t
- Ensure compliance with external regulations that impact online learning.
\t
- Collaborate with institutional stakeholders to ensure initiatives align with the institution's mission and vision and enhance student success.
Faculty Engagement, Support & Evaluation
\t
- Define faculty engagement expectations and develop a support structure for online instructors.
\t
- Implement an evaluation model to assess online instructor performance and provide ongoing professional development.
\t
- Facilitate training sessions and workshops for faculty and key stakeholders on best practices in online instruction and technology integration
General Responsibilities:
\t
- Teach at least 1 online course per semester.
\t
- Fulfill other online learning and student success duties as assigned.
\t
- Manage FAS100
Expectations for On-Campus Presence (If Remote, Preferably will be based in Lancaster)
\t
- Participate in bi-weekly meetings of the Academic Leadership Team
\t
- Participate in Monthly Academic Council Meetings
\t
- Maintain a regular physical presence on campus at minimum to be determined
\t
- On Campus Attendance at the following meetings:
