SUNY Geneseo is seeking applications for the position of Associate Provost for Academic Success.
Reporting to the Provost and a key member of the Provost's leadership team, the Associate Provost for Academic Success (APAS) leads the college's efforts in fostering student academic engagement, achievement, and completion. The APAS has a particularly important role in promoting equity-based practices that lead to greater student retention, completion, and post-graduation outcomes.
The APAS directly oversees and supervises Academic Affairs offices that provide frontline academic support services (including the Advising Office, the Access Opportunity Programs, International Student and Scholar Services, and the Office of Accessibility Services) and that support integrative and applied learning (including the Career Design Center, the Office of Study Abroad, and the Center for Integrative Learning).
As appropriate, the APAS serves as a student success resource for campus governance and college-wide committees focused on strategic planning, student well-being, curricular development, and diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
In support of success, retention, and completion efforts, the APAS serves as a key contact point between the Division of Academic Affairs and other divisions, particularly Student and Campus Life. In this function, the APAS works collaboratively to support and enhance programs that promote holistic student support and wellbeing, co-curricular residential, integrative, and applied learning experiences, and other high-impact practices.
The APAS also serves as the student appeals officer of the Division of Academic Affairs, overseeing Academic Standards, grade appeals, and serving as the final adjudicator of student appeals regarding faculty concerns and/or the administration of academic policy.
