As a Associate Project Manager, need to lead the execution of projects within the factory by managing all project related activities within the factory from purchase order to shipment and own the commercial and technical communication to the field project teams and customers, Electrification Distribution Solutions.

Project Operations Manager

Your responsibilities

  • Engage with the proposal team to review orders from a technical and commercial standpoint during order entry. Ensure customer requirements are in line with ABB contractual obligations.

  • Ensures that the project follows execution best practices and ABB policies.

  • Act as the primary contact for all order-related matters to the various stakeholders outside of the factory. Manage the entire order-cycle including scheduling, delivery of drawings, execution in the shop, on-time shipment, invoicing coordination, and closing. Provide status/progress updates to all stakeholders with appropriate level of detail.

  • Monitors and controls project financials, overseeing project invoicing status, cost, expenses and cash flow. Support all aspects of orders to enhance shipped margin opportunities. Under general direction, resolve disputes involving invoicing, back charges, escalation, delays, and warranty charges.

  • Identifies, qualifies, quantifies and manages risk, and ensures that all opportunities are identified and pursued.

  • Responsible for quotation and booking of change orders. Initiate price change requests, apply mark-ups, prepare quotations and implement schedule changes, as appropriate.

  • Ensures that the project is formally closed out, as contractually agreed. Drives the formal acceptance of the project, contract close-out and its acknowledgement by the customer.

  • Captures, analyzes and shares lessons learned throughout the project.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally in a coordinated and professional way to create a team environment that achieves project success.

Your background

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field.

  • 5+ or more years of experience in Electrification, Manufacturing or Project Management

  • Knowledge of Project Management disciplines and process.

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and knowledge in power systems and protection-related matters.

  • Must be familiar and have practical experience with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint, SAP and other applicable software.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Must be self-motivated with a high level of creativity.

  • Travel is approximately 5%.

  • Complex problem-solving skills required.

  • Strong conflict resolution skills required.

  • Experience in dealing with the cultural diversity of a global business environment.

As an Associate Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the preparation and submittal of drawing packages based on customer specifications for electrical equipment and controls. You will work with project managers, manufacturing, and customers within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts, & resolve issues. Reporting to the Engineering Manager. Your responsibilities * Share appropriate engineering information through open dialogue with other functions in factory and abroad * Execute assigned orders to ensure a high degree of accuracy and on time delivery of engineering drawings and documentation. Manage workload to provide quick turn around on revise and resubmit requests * Create and support technical documentation for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies. standards and procedures * Configure and manage BOMs, technical specifications sheets and engineering drawings. Suggest design optimization concepts to increase order margin * Provide technical support across the whole order lifespan (quoting, engineering/design, manufacturing, post shipment stages) as required * Respond to factory floor requests with a high sense of urgency by meeting with production team on factory floor, driving technical solutions, generating updated drawings and/or bill of materials, etc * Participate in the investigation of technical problems and the establishment of procedures and corrective actions to avoid recurrences * Complete on a timely basis all data entry including labor vouchering, required job milestone dates (drawing submittal, BOM release, etc.) * Contribute to lessons learned by capturing mistakes and communicating to responsible parties to drive continuous improvement * Embrace Engineering tools to drive efficiency and accuracy by providing feedback and contributing to testing of new tool features * Collaborate with upper leadership to create engineering documentation, standards, and best practices * Interacts with customers, officials, contractors, and others. Attends project meetings and presents specific aspects of engineering assignments Your background * Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical-Electrical, Electrical or any Engineering degree related to control boards or electrical distribution products or Associate Degree and 4 years relevant working experience. * 2 or more years of experience with electrical distribution equipment is preferred. * 2 or more years of experience interpreting or creating one-line diagrams and electrical schematics. * Working knowledge of IEEE and ANSI standards relating to switchgear, switchboards, and/or motor control centers. * Experience working in a production or manufacturing environment. * Computer skills in Office and experience with software tools such as EPLAN and CREO. * Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
