ASSOCIATE PROJECT LEADER, DCRI, CTTI

Occupational Summary

The Associate Project Leader will work with Project Leaders to coordinate and implement research and administrative strategies essential to the successful design, management, and completion of projects on clinical trial methodologies conducted by the Clinical Trials Transformation Initiative (CTTI), a public-private partnership co-founded by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Duke University.

NOTE: This position may have an opportunity to work remotely. All Duke University and Duke Health remote workers must reside in one of the following states or districts: Arizona; California; Florida; Georgia; Hawaii; Illinois; Maryland; Massachusetts; Montana; New Jersey; New York; North Carolina; Pennsylvania; South Carolina; Tennessee; Texas; Virginia or Washington, DC., Washington (State), Connecticut

Work Performed

  • Conduct landscape assessments - such as performing literature scans and recording and compiling information from key informant interviews - for project topics suggested by CTTI member organizations, the CTTI executive director, and/or the FDA.

  • Utilize knowledge gained from past research, or research-related experience, to apply to CTTI projects and activities intended to improve the quality and efficiency of clinical trials.

  • Assist in the development, review content, and provide suggested edits to project concept proposals and project plans created by Project Leaders.

  • Participate in project conference calls, including contributing to agenda development, documenting action items, and drafting high level summaries.

  • Generate, review, and distribute regular project tracking in task management software as well as maintaining metrics on evidence gathering activities such as recruitment status for surveys and interviews, or speaker tracking for CTTI expert meetings or public convenings.

  • Collect and compile project team feedback on draft project recommendations, manuscripts, or other products.

  • Assist in the dissemination of project results and associated CTTI recommendations through contributing to writing/preparation of presentations, abstracts, manuscripts, and presentations related to specific projects.

  • Collaborate with CTTI communications and engagement teams to support successful communication of ongoing work

  • Travel, as needed, to attend CTTI-related meetings.

  • Participate in departmental activities such as the modification of department SOPs and guidelines, strategic planning retreats, and activities to achieve key results.

  • Respond to project team, member, or related effort inquiries in a professional, courteous, and timely manner.

  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training

Work requires graduation from an accredited degree program providing clinical training as a Registered Nurse (RN), Physician's Assistant (PA) or Pharmacist plus two years of healthcare experience, or one of the following equivalents:

1.Completion of an allied health degree (e.g., Respiratory Therapy, Radiologic Technology, Licensed Practical Nurse) plus a minimum of four years closely related research experience or 3 years directly related experience in clinical trials research; or

2.Completion of a bachelor's degree plus a minimum of two years closely related experience or a minimum of one year directly related experience in clinical trials research

Experience

Prefer knowledge of clinical trial operations. Experience working in healthcare, clinical research and/or a project-oriented organization preferred.

Minimum Qualifications

Education
