UTC Aerospace Systems (UTAS) is among the largest global suppliers of technologically advanced aerospace products. We design and manufacture aerospace systems for commercial, regional, corporate and military aircraft and are a major supplier for international space programs.
Ground Support Equipment (GSE) provides an extensive complement of test equipment, tools, components, and training, in support of both commercial and military applications all over the world. Within the GSE organization, we have the resources and expertise to design, manufacture and support our products for our diverse aerospace customer base.
The GSE organization is currently seeking an experienced and energetic Associate Program Manager (PM) responsible for the implementation of Ground Support Equipment programs to design, develop, and deliver tools and test equipment for new and existing platforms. The Associate Program Manager is a leadership role which has responsibility and accountability for the program's overall success.
The PM is involved in all aspects of the program, from working with a customer defining requirements to delivering the equipment. This includes all product life phases including a Statement of Work (SOW) with the customer, proposal development, leading the design team, and managing the production phase of the program. The GSE organization is integral to all the UTAS business segments.
The organization works in close alignment with the following businesses: Electric Systems, Engine Systems, Air Management Systems, Propellers and Airframe Products, with growth potential into other UTAS business units. The successful candidate will be required to manage multiple programs across various military and commercial platforms. As Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) F-35, Boeing 787, and other emerging platforms are being delivered to more and more customers world-wide, the need for products and services that GSE provides will continue to grow year over year.
Establish and/or manage program plans, including customer milestones and budgets using Earned Value Management (EVMS) practices.
Coordinate with operations team in managing deliveries to meet customer schedule requirements.
Proactively identify problems and obtain solutions, such as allocation of resources or negotiating contractual specifications.
Organize and conduct program status reviews, team meetings, and various other regular business activities.
Manage Risk/opportunity of assigned work to assure on-time and within budget completion including work performed at subcontractors.
Manage changes in scope or period of performance and prepare change proposals as required.
Lead the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas.
Coordinate on-site support, planning, and execution at depot locations.
