An Associate Program Manager is highly motivated, results oriented problem solver who exemplifies a willingness to be flexible, learn on the job and maintain a "can do" attitude responsible for the underwriting, marketing & portfolio management of each assigned Program.

As a Program Manager, you will:

  • Assist Program Manager with the development of business plans for each assigned program including new business, renewals, rate management, expected retentions, etc. to position the division to achieve profit objectives

  • Assist Program Manager with monitoring of renewals rate targets vs. achieved, retentions, trends, lost business, etc. on a monthly basis to assure achievement of business plans & profitability targets

  • Assist Program Manager with account referrals from the PA

  • Develop a strong working knowledge of AIG operating systems rating & policy issuance at the PA level

  • Develop a working knowledge of data feeds, affirming receipt of data in the required format & frequency

  • Participate in insurance & industry specific association training/meetings to enhance knowledge by class of business to stay current with industry specific market trends

  • Collaborate with Actuarial, Accounting, Claims, Operations, Program Development, Risk Management & Underwriting as necessary

  • Assist Business Analyst with existing databases to ensure are updated and accurately maintained

  • Assist Business Analyst with delivery of individualized data for Stewardship scorecards

  • Assist Business Analyst with development of individualized Program performance metrics which can be posted to the PA Portal.

  • Provide direction, motivate and grow talent, and empower and coach teams toward higher levels of performance.

What we are looking for

  • Minimum of 5+ Years of Commercial Underwriting Experience focused on Multi Line Package portfolio management.

  • Ability to manage by influence demonstrating strong communication, relationship management, organizational and analytical skills.

  • Demonstrated proficiency on AIG policy rating/issuance platforms (i.e. Cover-All).

  • Working knowledge of ISO, Admitted and Non Admitted product execution.

  • Proven understanding of manuscript, admitted form language and policy coverage analysis.

  • Demonstrated ability to understand and work with analytical tools, reports and technology.

  • Ability to work in dynamic, rapidly changing environment, adapting to changing requirements and collaborating with a wide range of colleagues to quickly deliver solutions.

  • Willingness to be flexible, learn on the job, and maintain a can-do attitude.

  • Highly motivated and results-oriented, proven creative problem solver.

  • Very strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Travel 10%

  • Proven record desired providing direction, motivating and growing employees to drive high levels of performance

Positions Summary: Under limited direction, acts as highest level individual contributor directly supervising, reviewing and monitoring Lawyers Professional Liability and Design Professional / Architects and Engineer Professional Liability claims to determine nature of loss, coverage provided, and scope of claim and to make recommendation regarding settlement/disposition of claims. NOTE - This position can be based out of either Berkeley Heights, NJ, Alpharetta, GA or Princeton, NJ. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Highest level individual contributor directly reviewing and monitoring complex Lawyers Professional and Design Professional liability claims to determine nature of loss, coverage provided, and scope of claim * Willingness to be cross-trained in other lines of business, as needed * Multi-line experience monitoring and supervising claims * Provides oversight, supervision and guidance to third party administrator adjusters on behalf of AXIS * Utilizes critical thinking and solid judgment to solve problems, makes decisions and resolves complex issues inherent in handling losses, as well as plans and organizes activities throughout the claims management process * Documents damage or loss associated with claim and produces reports for senior management * Investigates potentially fraudulent claims and takes appropriate action * Makes recommendations for settlement/disposition of claims * Interacts extensively with various parties involved in the claim process * Support Underwriting by participating in client meetings and making presentations * May provide technical advice and/or training to lower level claims personnel * Other duties as assigned Required Education, Experience and Attributes: * Juris Doctorate degree preferred, but not required * Minimum of 5 years of related experience handling liability claims in multiline insurance environment * 4+ years' experience involving professional liability claims * Audit experience * Excellent reporting and writing skills * Technical knowledge, skills, and training within the field to include: Lawyers Professional Liability, Architects and Engineers, Design Professionals * Solid understanding of the MGA / TPA relationship * Confidence in coverage, liability, evaluation and reserving * Solid negotiation and settlement skills * Supervisory perspective, with experience providing direction and authority to adjusters * Valid licenses by state as required and add states to certifications as needed * Availability for occasional travel * Good interpersonal communication skills * Good negotiation and analytical skills * Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, interact with others, meet deadlines, and successfully perform in a fast-paced, changing work environment Axis Capital Holdings Berkeley Heights NJ
