Job Description

Finance role designed to provide experience across a wide variety of international programs. The individual will use analyses to drive discussions around program efficiency and timeliness. This role offers frequent interaction with other departments and disciplines within the organization (both across and outside of the Finance function). Responsibilities include:

  • Learn contractual cost & revenue forecasting - understand and develop monthly program forecasts of revenue, costs and margin for international programs. Requires ability to work with others to forecast program costs (direct & indirect) and forecast the revenue recognition concepts (i.e., deferred revenue and/or percent of completion).

  • Frequently interact with Program Managers, Bids & Proposals team, Sales Order Administration and functional departments (purchasing,subcontracts, shipping, etc) to create initial budget and monthly estimates for cost elements. Monitor and close budgets when appropriate.

  • Execute non-PO invoices to pay vendors and inter-company business invoices to allocate cost to appropriate entity.

  • Liaise with Cost Accounting Department to understand impacts of accounting policies and standards on results. Topics include deferred revenue schedules and revenue recognition requirements for programs.

Qualifications:

  • BS/BA in Accounting/Finance, Minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Self-starter that works well in a team environment

  • Strong organizational and computer skills (Microsoft Suite)

  • Flexibility in an Evolving Organization

  • Demonstrated ability to identify and execute continuous process improvement opportunities

  • PeopleSoft Financial experience, Oracle EBS experience

  • Language skills a possible plus

Learn more at harris.com Job Description: * Provide comprehensive financial metrics and forecasts to program managers, finance department, and senior staff while maintaining cost and schedule controls in alignment w/profitability targets. * Develop, communicate, and recommend action plans with program teams to ensure financial targets and program goals are achieved; elevate critical issues/recommendations to management to ensure proactive resolution. * Be recognized as resident financial expert on assigned programs and contribute/lead the advancement of financial support/reporting initiatives. * Monitors division and department adherence to approved processes and audit requirements (support US Government audit activities). * Activities could include assist/support US Government pricing efforts as required: * Financial presentation of opportunities and their respective returns * Financial models/analysis for new products, markets, or ops * Comprehensive review of costs, risks, and opportunities Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree required with a minimum of 2 years related finance experience (MBA preferred). * General Accounting (AP/AR); Cost Accounting knowledge preferred. * Must be a self-starter with strong analytical skills.
