Qualifications

• Earned doctorate in education or related field from an accredited institution.

• Prior graduate teaching experience required , with doctoral teaching and dissertation committee experience preferred.

• Expertise in qualitative/quantitative and/or mixed methods preferred.

• Prior university teaching and/or senior leadership experience at the K-12 level preferred.

• Commitment to professional and scholarly activity as demonstrated by an active research agenda that speaks to both practitioner and academic communities.

• Demonstration of collegial teamwork and desire to collaborate with colleagues to meet program and department needs.

This is a 9-month Associate Professor faculty position, teaching and coordinating the Ed D program in Leadership in the Education Department. The EdD program as two tracks: 1) Higher Education; @) K-12 Leadership. The EdD program is a 60 hour, dissertation-embedded, cohort-based program. We are seeking a creative and collaborative colleague with prior experience teaching doctoral courses and dissertation experience.

We are seeking a colleague to complete our faculty team who has:

• Experience in areas related to school leadership, K-12 and higher education

• Experience providing dissertation supervision and high-quality methodology training for doctoral students.

• Strong record of published qualitative/quantitative research and knowledge/skills with research software.

• Demonstrated familiarity with public K-12 education and higher education.

• Preference is for mixed-methods methodological experience, with particular expertise in qualitative research.

• Prior dissertation committee service required.

• Experience with online teaching (fully online or hybrid course models).

Primary Responsibilities

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching doctoral level leadership courses, K-12 focused and higher education courses, depending upon individual expertise; mentoring students; serving on dissertation committees; and maintaining a professional research agenda. In addition, all faculty are expected to engage with K-12 partners and prospective students, upon request; contribute to ongoing program improvement efforts; and participate in committee service at the program, School, and/or University level, as well as to the broader professional community.

Workload

Full-time faculty, 9-monthly contract. The typical workload includes teaching, program coordination, scholarly activity, service, advising, and School and/or University committee assignment.

Texas Law requires a 60 day waiting period before new state employees are eligible to enroll in health insurance.

The report also contains information about crime statistics for the three most recent calendar years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in On-Campus Student Housing Facilities; in Noncampus buildings or property owned or controlled by the University or a recognized student organization; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the campus. Sul Ross State University Rio Grande College is a non-residential, upper level institution offering junior, senior and graduate courses in the liberal arts non-traditional with an enrollment of approximately 1,000 students each semester. Rio Grande College offers classes at Eagle Pass, Del Rio, and Uvalde in the southwest Texas border region.
