The Associate Production Technician follows written procedures and direction from a supervisor and/or lead associate to assist in the manufacture of diagnostic reagents.
On a daily basis the incumbent will:
Assist with line setup kit assembly
In-process quality checks
Use of manual and electric pallet jack to transport heavy loads
Must be able to perform simple calculations
Accurately complete documentation per cGMP requirements
Keep up with required area training, and be able to learn setup and troubleshooting of simple to more complex labeling
Filling and capping equipment
The majority of each shift is spent assembling kits at a rapid/constant pace and transporting materials. Success at this position requires above average hand-to-eye coordination and dexterity.
The incumbent must be able to handle heavy items on a frequent basis and stay mobile for the entire shift. The incumbent will be working with and around heavy equipment, pallets of materials and hazardous reagents. All associates in the area are required to wear PPE including, but not limited to, hard toe safety shoes, safety glasses, lab coat and nitrile-style gloves.
Additionally, the incumbent are required to identify, communicate and help implement safety, quality, and process improvement opportunities for the area. The expectation is to be engaged in continuous growth and self-development to eventually require minimal direct supervision as time progresses. Finally, solid teamwork skills, excellent attendance and the ability to adapt to change are critical for this position.
