Job Description:

The Associate Production Supervisor will be based in Buffalo Grove, IL. In this position, you will be responsible for directing the manufacturing operations performed in a shift or group of production lines, ensuring they reach volume, quality and cost goals. You will be working from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM (night shift).

Here is a glimpse of what you'll do:

  • Lead a team comprising individual professional (e.g. operators, material handlers, technicians) to meet quality, cost, delivery and responsiveness requirements.

  • Reviews daily plant operating performance and uses a Continuous Improvement focus to identify and recommend changes in operating conditions that will improve safety/efficiencies/quality.

  • Troubleshoots/analyses operational problems and advises on their resolution. Holds regular discussions with operators to coach performance and improve operational understanding/capability.

  • Receives and evaluates ideas for plant improvements and works with qualified engineers to develop project proposals.

  • Provides technical/operational advice to project teams.

  • Prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply in order to meet customer requirements.

  • Initiates and participates in process development and cost improvement projects.

  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.

Here is some of what you'll need (required):

  • Supervisory experience within a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience working with contingent workers.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

  • Experience with MRP Systems/Inventory Systems.

  • From 2 to 3 years of experience.

Here are a few of our preferred experiences:

  • Experience in a cleanroom environment.

  • Experience with high-volume manufacturing and/or medical manufacturing.

  • Familiar with FDA-regulated products.

We are looking for someone who demonstrates: * Intense collaboration * Passionate customer focus * Thoughtful, fast, disciplined execution * Tenacious commitment to continuous improvement * Relentless drive to win Here is a glimpse of what you'll do: * Responsible for the production of several processes/lines in a highly technical and highly automated assembly production operation. * Leads a team comprising individual professional (e.g. engineers/officers) to meet quality, cost, delivery and responsiveness requirements. Supervises production staff on work method and quality checkpoints. * Reviews daily/regularly plant operating performance and advise on changes in operating conditions that will improve efficiencies/quality * Provides supervision and direction to subordinate staff and coordinates work flow within major work unit, including distributing work, disseminating information, assigning staff to cover for absences, providing technical assistance, answering questions, and resolving problems within the work unit supervised * Prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply in order to meet customer requirements Here is some of what you'll need (required): * Minimum 8 years of experience in automated assembly lines * Recent experience in supervisory roles * Proven track record of building high performing teams * Experience with reviewing material, equipment, and manpower resource requirements. * Experience in production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply in order to meet customer requirements. * Involvement in coordinating production activities with other functional groups such as planning and distribution. Here are a few of our preferred experiences: * Assembly operations of complex plastics parts * High volume, highly automated manufacturing operations experience. * Experience in assembly lines having Robotics, high speed, linear and rotary/dial automated assembly and inspection machines is a plus * Experience working in an FDA or other highly regulated facility * Knowledge of ERP and Inventory Management best practices. Demonstrated experience in production environment with Lean and 6-sigma methodologies.
