Job Summary:The Associate Production and Demand Planner is responsible for reviewing orders, product, and materials using inventory, sales orders, and forecast information thereby planning and communicating the information to the necessary departments to meet the delivery demands and requirements of our customers. Using established forecasting and scheduling processes and systems, the Associate Production and Demand Planner will cover certain forecasting and scheduling responsibilities in the absence of the Production Planner or Senior Demand Planner, such as generating reports and publishing that information to all departments.

Minimum Requirements:A successful candidate will have a high school diploma. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or relevant discipline preferred. Must understand production processes and capabilities and inventory management practices and procedures. Must be capable of quickly learning product knowledge and help coordinate replenishment of Purchased Goods to maintain inventory levels. Possess knowledge of production operations to schedule production and help coordinate replenishment of raw materials used for manufacturing. Must demonstrate proficiency in communication and math skills. Must have advanced understanding of Microsoft Windows, Enterprise Resource Planning systems appropriate to the manufacturing industry, Microsoft Office with an emphasis in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, conditional formatting). Must be a self-starter, highly organized, analytical thinker, strong attention to detail, and able to work well and communicate with all levels in the organization. Ability to multi-task and function effectively under pressure.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review data, generate reports, and publish the information to departments.

  • Identify performance issues that affect Supply Chain and initiate a problem-solving process (root cause analysis) if appropriate.

  • Based on future customer demands, maintain inventory levels to protect against unforeseen events such as spikes in demand or supply shortages.

  • Update and/or manage the master production schedule in the absence of the scheduler considering current inventory levels, production operations and customer lead time to meet sales forecasts and customer orders.

  • Plan and schedule workflow for each department and operation according to manufacturing sequences and lead times.

  • Analyze customer SKU level forecasts and plans production orders to support demand.

  • Plan sequence of products based upon production, assembly, and other production operations to meet schedules and optimize plant efficiencies.

  • Communicate with production supervisors and managers regarding the production schedule.

  • Must understand demand planning process, systems, and reporting.

  • Assist Senior Demand Planner with forecasts, forecast accuracy, sales and inventory analysis. Monitor selling trends and historical seasonality patterns with focus on continuous improvement, reducing forecast error and improving service levels.

  • Prepare and maintain relevant reports pertaining to demand planning process.

  • Use and maintain Demand Planning software.

  • Address demand/scheduling related questions and issues in a timely manner.

  • Any and all other job-related duties as assigned
