This will be a fast-paced role that will focus on multiple levels of product development, operations, business development and customer engagement. Duties and Responsibilities ? Manage existing inventory of product samples and customer sample requests ? Coordinate with US office, factories, and HK team regarding shipping plans, scheduling and container consolidations ? Attend design meetings and record meeting minutes to ensure all pertinent information is distributed to teams ? Maintain diligent communication with current factories and vendor base ? Help liaise with US office, factories, and HK team regarding development, pre-production and shipment samples ? Manage domestic China CCC testing and factory compliance ? Liaise with US office, factories and printers on product labeling, carton markings, and carton sizing requirements ? Manage carton and product label inventory and purchasing ? Prepare, track and document incoming and outgoing samples ? Communicate with testing laboratory regarding document submissions and generic testing requests; Follow up on report status and routine re-submissions (when the testing reports are expired) ? Monitor up-to-date PO status and shipment changes with factories ? Assist in the development of new concepts, designs and products ? Review production and shipment samples to check for product quality consistency ? Work with design team to make development comments on incoming samples ? Assist with office management tasks; order supplies and samples as needed ? Complete routine administrative tasks as needed ? Assist in account management of existing and new global customers ? Skills and Requirements ? Strong attention to detail ? Experience in toy or consumer products industry a plus ? Demonstrated ability to drive business results ? BA/BS from an accredited University ? Expertise in Microsoft Office applications ? Highly motivated; able to take initiative and work in a fast-paced environment ? Knowledge of manufacturing process a plus ? Excellent verbal communication and writing skills ? The Aftermarket Product Manager will be considered the "business expert" among the field sales, marketing, engineering, operations and product development organizations, as well as the strategic direction and road-mapping for the product line, creating continuous, incremental product value to the customer. The Aftermarket Product Manager will provide guidance to the R&D engineering and manufacturing organizations regarding new product development to ensure the technical, marketing and sales objectives are achieved. The Aftermarket Product Manager will coordinate all activities related to product launches to include the development of supporting marketing documentation and sales tools which translate engineering specifications to product features, benefits and customer value. This role will report to the Business Line Leader and will work closely with customer service, engineering, manufacturing, and finance, etc., to meet product line sales and profitability goals. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS * Leads strategy development to maximize aftermarket potential with 80's customers in target markets. * Coordinates, prioritizes and monitors new product development activity with the assigned Product Development Team leaders and potential customers to ensure that all functional groups are participating and achieving their tactical activities in bringing new products under development to targeted customers. * Builds relationships with customers and continually monitors and profiles key "Critical-To-Customer" product fulfillment requirements to ensure the company maintains a sustainable competitive advantage over current industry and emerging suppliers of like products/technology. Regularly communicates CTCs to the organization and acts as the customers' internal product champion to ensure all functional groups are addressing gaps in providing optimum product to customers. * Works closely with the Business Line Leader, Global Sales force and Marketing on customer opportunities involving his/her product lines. The Product Manager is responsible for growing the sales of products annually. * Analyzes the current competitive product performance specifications for fluidic solution products and defines existing product improvement or value engineering programs to the organization to stay competitive in the fluidic solutions market. * Provides regular updates to the Sales and Marketing groups relative to new product announcements, competitive information announcements, new product and/or existing product specifications, and new product training. * Participates in the planning and execution of the Company's product strategy and roadmap, including a detailed review of product performance (margin, sales volume, and obsolescence of non-profitable lines). Works closely with Business Line Leader, Global Sales team and customers to ensure product roadmap strategy is consistent with overall market strategy. * Provide content for all outbound marketing for their assigned products. * Develops product pricing and associated pricing policies consistent with the target market for the product. * Supports the Business Line Leader & Sales force in evaluating channel strategy, supply policy, and pricing practices to ensure profit margins are maintained and partners are appropriately motivated. * Leads, organizes and monitors the sales forecasting process for synthesizing customer forecasts for existing and new products with Sales order administration, materials management, manufacturing management, and key customer representatives in their respective Product Management and Materials organizations. * Continuously monitors order fulfillment policies and process and provides direction as to improvement to the process to drive more accurate forecasting and associated reductions in working capital costs. * Learns competitors' products and alternate technologies * Provides guidance, product support, and training to customer service * Maintains awareness of customer needs and direction * Performs other duties as assigned or directed Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree (advanced degree preferred) in a technical discipline and/or business discipline with at least 8 years experience. * Experience in a product environment targeted as components and/or subsystems for sales into Knight target markets. * Familiar with a variety of marketing concepts, practices and procedures. * Solid financial understanding and analysis at the Income Statement level of financial reporting required. * Excellent communication, public speaking and presentation skills. * Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with customers and work within a team environment * Ability to travel 25% of the time (some international travel) * Masters of Business Administration preferred * JD Edwards experience preferred * Photoshop experience preferred * CRM experience, Microsoft Dynamics preferred IDEX is an equal opportunity employer Minorities/Females/Protected Veterans/Disabled Idex Corporation Irvine CA
